One Room Challenge…Week 5

Oh week five, how did you get here so fast?  This ORC week was filled with high highs, my drapes are in and they are fabulous, and low lows, furniture delays…major furniture delays.  But lets focus on the highs first.  The drapes were installed at 10:00 pm last night and I couldn’t be more in love.  The mango-peach velvet pop of color is what dreams are made of and the tassels, well everything is better with a tassel.  They completely softened the room and elevated my office’s overall look plus they’re the perfect compliment to my modern Thibaut Tanzania wallpaper and horned sconces.  Drapes, done and done.

The second big progression this week was my AllModern Blu Dot Strut Desk which I’m equally loving.  The simple white desk is the perfect size and doesn’t distract from everything else going on.  However, because the desk doesn’t have drawers I did need to purchase a small rolling file cabinet from Ikea.  Also to keep my desktop clutter free I flanked the desk with my favorite Tini Table from Oomph to hold a few necessities.  And on a total side note I’ll be working with Oomph soon to create an exclusive, limited edition Tini Table so if you have any colors or shapes you’re dying to see please holler at me below in the comments!

Okay the bad-I-don’t-think-we’re-going-to-make-deadline-news.  A few of the major pieces of furniture, specifically my table and other shelf has been delayed.  The Knoll Tables are custom made and it looks like we’re a week or so out.  I only have myself and my procrastination to blame.  So next week at the final reveal, we may only get a partial reveal and have to take the ORC to week seven.  Chalk it up to the joys of design!  Truly, MKR

WOM x Oomph Tini Table in Chappell Green Oomph Tini Table with Waiting on MarthaWaiting on Martha's Exclusive Oomph Tini Table in Chappell Green

Today is an exciting day here at the WOM offices…we can FINALLY debut our all-new, exclusive Tini Tables in partnership with one of our favorites, Oomph!  They couldn’t have turned out more gorge, hand-painted in Farrow & Ball’s Chappell Green with a raffia top and in my two favorite shapes…perfection.

This made-in-America, handmade piece is one of my favorite ways to accessorize a room, no doubt about it.  I was hooked after including a Tini Table in my office as part of my first One Room Challenge (and it was used again in Round #2 of the ORC for my loft makeover!).  While small and lightweight, the tables’ impressive craftsmanship and high quality shine through. They prove to be incredibly versatile in your home, serving as the perfect surface for your morning cup of coffee, reading material and of course, your glass of vino.  In fact, many a Saturday night you’ll see me move my Tini Table from the office to the sofa to get ready for movie night.  You know I’m obsessed with Chappell Green, it’s the perfect chameleon color.  It adds a pop to every room, while never competing with the overall design.

The WOM x Oomph Tini Table II and Tini Table IV are available exclusively through Oomph Online and the WOM Shop.  And we mean exclusive, we’re only making about a dozen of these pretties so when they’re gone they’re gone!  Tell me loves, how will you enjoy your Tini Table?Truly, MKR

How to Set a Table

A Gorgeous Guide to Formal and Informal Place Settings

How to set a table: formal place settings guide | Waiting on MarthaHow to set a table: informal place settings | Waiting on Martha

We’re big advocates for all things entertaining here, and that of course includes tabletops.  And setting a beautiful tabletop, whether that’s for a dinner party or a simple Sunday supper, all starts with remembering where the wine glass goes and which bread plate is whose.

Because a beautiful tabletop never goes out of style, and because I know I can always go for a little refresher on tabletop basics, I knew it was due time to pull this oldie-but-goodie out of the archives.  It doesn’t hurt that our place settings guide is just as gorgeous as it is helpful.  Rustic White captured the guides styled by MKR herself, and the talented Jamie Jimenez helped spell out where each instrument and accompaniment should go in the most stunning way (I think I’ll be a sucker for stunning script on kraft paper forever + ever). Lastly, Vanessa at Vintage English Teacup has one of the most amazing collections of vintage china that I’ve ever laid eyes on, and this shoot always gives me a little inspo for more pattern play on my tabletop at home!  Cheers, Kat
