Summertime marks the season for slushies, friends. And not just any slushy; I’m talking about peach white wine slushies.  They’re tart, refreshing and quite possibly the easiest drink drink you’ve ever made boasting only 3 ingredients!

You may remember our incredibly popular frose, or rose slushy, recipe.  While that’s still one of our favorites here at team WOM, these peach white wine slushies vie for our love just as hard.  They require a whopping three ingredients; the ones that you’ll almost definitely have on hand whenever the mood strikes for slushies.

Frozen peaches serve as excellent ice cubes when blended with your favorite bottle of Sauvignon Blanc.  I say Sauv Blanc because I did try it with Pinot Grigio as I was recipe testing and it just wasn’t quite as tasty.  You’ll want some simple syrup to sweeten the batch up once blended, and you can add a gorgeous Georgia peach and some fresh mint from your CSA to garnish.  Believe me when I say, it’s a dangerously delicious drink that will keep you coming back for more.

So next time you’re wondering what to bring to the pool day or out on the boat for a day on the lake, look no further.  My Peach White Wine Slushies are just the thing you need. Truly, MKR

I’ve always been a fan of having frozen vegetables on hand.  They’re the type of pantry staple that can help even the most uninspired nights get a little sustenance.  So when Bird’s Eye® recently came out with the Steamfresh® Superfoods line, I was eager to see what it was all about.  Bird’s Eye has long been a brand I seek out in the frozen aisle at Kroger, and this new addition seemed right up my alley.  I mean, I’ll take all of the superfoods I can get, especially when frozen vegetables retain the same amount of nutrients as those bought fresh.

Big surprise here, but I was first inspired to try the Bird’s Eye® Steamfresh® Superfoods Quinoa & Spinach blend with my take on healthy stuffed peppers!  You know how much I love peppers.  I took a few plump poblanos, halving and deseeding them before throwing on the grill for five minutes—I prefer a bit of a crunch in my peppers, but if you like them more tender, keep them on the grill a few minutes more—before filling with the steamed blend straight out of the microwave.

I kid you not when I tell you that the meal took me no more than 10 minutes from start to finish.  I used some spicy white BBQ sauce I had in my fridge to drizzle on top, though I want to try cheese or even a spicy ranch next time too.  Voila!  So easy.

The beauty with a blend like this is that its a great pantry staple that’s easy to mix into just about anything.  It would be great on top of a salad, paired with chicken, as part of a nourish bowl and so much more.

I think you’ll find that the heartiness of the quinoa, paired with the steamed spinach, brown rice, cranberries & red peppers in a light red wine vinaigrette sauce is extremely satisfying however you fix it.  I’m beyond thrilled to find a good frozen staple like this one.  Have you tried anything of the collection yet?! Truly, MKR

Ingredients
  1. 3 poblano peppers, halved and deseeded
  2. 1-2 bag Birds Eye Spinach & Quinoa Superfoods Blend
  3. dressing of choice, I used a spicy white Alabama BBQ sauce
Instructions
  1. Cook Superfoods Blend per bag instructions.*
  2. Grill the halved poblanos for five minutes. I like them to retain a bit of crunch, but if you like them more tender, grill them longer.
  3. Plate the Superfoods Blend, adding grilled peppers on top, and leaving the majority to fill and stuff the halved peppers.
  4. Lastly, drizzle preferred dressing on top. Here you can also add cheese if you want!
Notes
  1. *Microwaving proved to be the best way when I tried cooking it as it creates the perfect steaming bag.

Ladylike in White

A White Self-Portrait Dress & Pearly Slides to Cherish
Filed Under > #OOTD (Outfit of the Day)

An outfit that makes you feel like a lady, but is also on-trend…that’s hard to find.  Usually you can feel one or the other.  But today’s outfit does it all.

This beautiful and intricate white dress by Self-Portrait is truly like no other.  If I’m being honest I wasn’t searching for a white dress, but had a need for a white dress.  You see, a few weeks ago I had to attend a “white party” for the design vignette I created during Market Week at Americas Mark.  Being me, I of course waited till the last minute.  Like, 2 days before hand.  I didn’t of course take into account that a chic white dress is almost impossible to find.  White dresses tend to fit into two categories: beach or casual.  What I needed was of course neither.

Thank goodness I stumbled upon this gem; lady-like, but with a bit of edge.  At $510, it’s a definite splurge, but it’s also something you’ll always, always be happy to have in your wardrobe.  Being familiar with Self-Portrait and owning a few of their pieces I knew this would be a piece I could wear again and again, and most importantly I’ve found that no one even comes close to Self Portrait in terms of detail, quality and craftsmanship.  This is my second time wearing the dress in 3 weeks, and I know there will be many more times to come.  It does, however, run small, so size up when ordering.

I paired these beaded sandal slides by Tory Burch ; aren’t they amazing too?!  The faux pearl slide with low block heel detail were calling my name from the second I saw them.  I topped off the look with a wide brim straw hat, a bamboo clutch my go-to Karen Walker sunnies, and these J.Crew earrings I have in four different colors.

All in all, a timeless, yet trendy and perfect look I’ll love forever!  Truly, MKR
