Five Beauty Products I’m Currently Crushing On

From The Best BB Cream to Aloe Laced Booties, Here's What I Can't Stop Using
Filed Under > Beauty & Tutorials

My top 5 beauty products and the best BB Cream, Waiting On Martha

When I find a new beauty product I love, I can’t stop talking about it.  So taking in consideration that I’m currently utterly obsessed with these five goods, I knew it was only fair that I shared a rundown with all of you. Say hello to my top beauty products on rotation: a the best, miracle-working BB Cream, nontoxic lip gloss, a gentle and luxurious foaming cleanser, Heaven-on-Earth aloe booties (yes they’re a thing) and a life-changing hair masque.  All big claims, I know, but seriously I can’t get enough of them right now!  Truly MKR

No. One.  Tarte BB Tinted Primer.  I’ve never used a BB Cream, or any kind of primer for fear of breaking out.  But then I saw this picture on Womanista’s Instagram and I couldn’t hit up Sephora fast enough.  Tarte’s BB Tinted Primer is just as magical as it appears and so far hasn’t caused any adolescent-esqe breakouts.

No. Two.  Smith & Cult Lip Gloss.  My obsession with Smith & Cult continues as they’ve now launched their nontoxic lip gloss line in the prettiest shades of pink.  And while snatching up a couple tubes, you know I couldn’t pass up adding a few new shades of their nail polish to my collection.

No. Three.  One Love Organics Easy Does It Foaming Cleanser.  This foaming cleanser is perfect for sensitive skin and smells as good as it works.  Pair it with their charcoal heart sponge for a truly spa-like experience.

No. Four.  Aloe Gel-Lined Booties.  With all the damage I’ve done to my feet by stuffing them in ballet pointe shoes for years and pointy-toed 4+ inch heels, the damage is starting to catch up to me.  Luckily, I found these aloe and tee tree oil laced booties that are as refreshing as they are healing.

No. Five.  Macadamia Professional Hair Masque.  Recently I discovered this relatively unknown, but cult-esque brand Macadamia Professional.  While all of their products are amazing, I’m particularly smitten with their moisturizing hair masque.  Smother it on at night, shower it out in the morning, and it’s like all those days of straight ironing and curling have just disappeared.

New Year, New Beauty Routine

From left to right, top to bottom…Clarisonic Opal  ||  HollyBeth Organics body oil  ||  The Lip Scrub  ||  Mario Badescu rose water spray  ||  Mario Badescu anti acne serum  ||  Biscuits tray  ||  Saint Laurent touche eclat  ||  Amore Pacific moisturizing mask  ||  HollyBeth Organics eye cream  ||  Lollia Wander bubble bath

As amazing and exciting as WOM always seems to be the truth is it’s really taken a toll on my mind and body.  I swear I’ve aged a decade over the last year.  So one of my resolutions for 2014 is to take better care of myself both inside and out.  Inside by taking more “Mandy” time to un-plug and de-stress.  Outside, by amping up my beauty routine and understanding that mother nature is going to be less gracious each coming year and I need to fight the good fight with every tool I have in my arsenal.

The trick is my skin is…well tricky.  It’s oily, it’s dry, it’s super sensitive, and it’s been the bane of my existence my entire life honestly.  But I feel like I’m finally getting a handle on it.  So here’s the skinny…I’m alternating the Mario Badescu anti acne serum with the Amore Pacific moisturizing mask each night and spraying the Mario Badescu rose water spray on each morning.  And shockingly my skin is brighter, and looking all around healthier without breaking out.

For my eyes, that struggle has just begun as it appears my eyes (or rather the bags under them) are where I’m going to age first.  At night I’m using HollyBeth Organics eye cream which is ah-mah-zing.  And for the day the Saint Laurent touche eclat is a game changer.  Everyone rush out and buy this product.  I promise you won’t regret it.

Lastly I’ve recently begun using the Clarisonic Opal which I’ve been assured by numerous people that it will take back that decade I feel I’ve lost this past year.  And when all else fails a little Lollia bubble bath and HollyBeth Organics body oil soak in the tub with a big glass of red wine seems to do the trick.  So Loves, please share if you have any beauty secrets I need to know about?  truly, MKR

My Favorite “Self Care” Products Currently

All Natural Lip Masks, The Best Dry Brush, Fancy Razors & More
Filed Under > Beauty & Tutorials

The top self care products including natural collagen lip masks that actually work!

“Self care” is all the buzz these days, and I personally couldn’t be happier.  The art of staying in, rather than going out, is celebrated with an emphasis on the small luxuries that make us feel better.  Self care, and in turn self love, is something I am totally on board with, and honestly wish it would have been this much of a thing when I was in my twenties.  I would have spent a lot more nights dabbling in essential oil face masks and a lot less mornings hung over.

Like the rest of my beauty routine, I like to prioritize clean, all natural products as much as possible.  That means a lot of the ingredients include my favorite essential oils and beneficial ingredients like charcoal, jojoba oil, organic sea salt, along with plenty of antioxidants to completely nourish my skin all over.

Fortunately, I’ve found that it’s easier than it used to be to find products that have all of these things and less of the things we don’t want! Whether you’re looking for an irresistible all natural perfume, a cure-all cold and flu soak, all natural collagen lip masks or the best ever dry brush, look no further.

I’ve rounded up my current favorite, natural, and just a tad indulgent, self care products here today.  Because if you didn’t know about natural collagen lip masks and 14k gold razors, you haven’t been living.  Truly, MKR

P.S. While these are my current favorites I’m always on the lookout for more, so I’d love to hear your own personal favorite self care products in the comments below!
