When menu planning for a day like Mother’s Day, I often go back and forth about what to serve that’s just as tasty as it is beautiful. And there’s one thing I know for sure: I’m serving this Grilled Georgia Peach Salad again this year (and all summer long). While Mama K and I shot our Mother’s Day brunch inspiration with J.McLaughlin, we were the most excited about devouring this salad, along with all the cheese, once the shoot was wrapped!
Fitting of any Georgia gal, I love pretty much peach-anything, and grilled peaches take that love to a whole new level, let me tell you. There’s something about the way the juicy fruit softens, sweetens and turns golden brown, exploding with the taste of summer in each bite. Grilling the peaches gives the fruit a new dimension to its sweetness, and paired with tangy fig balsamic, bitter arugula, herbed goat cheese, sweet snap peas and candied pecans…it’s just all a little unreal and has me excited about salads again.
And of course you know (or at least if you follow along) how I always talk about texture with my dishes, and this grilled peach salad hits the mark. The tender grilled peaches + fresh pop of snap peas + crunch of the candied pecans makes for one wonderful bite every time. Tell me, have you fired up the grill this season yet?! Truly, MKR

If there’s ever a reason to go all out, I’d say Mother’s Day is an obvious choice. This year when prepping for the big day, I had an idea of what I wanted to pull together; a no-fuss brunch filled with all of mom’s favorites. Miniature cast iron skillet quiches, almond filled croissants, macaroons, and the ultimate fruit tart. A fresh (and super simple) salad of grilled Georgia peaches, spring snap peas, and candied pecans, plus a seasonal rhubarb and strawberry fizzy libation (recipes coming this week). And of course, plenty of cheeses and nuts to nibble on, as I know we’ll linger at the table long after official brunch hours are through.
This year, though, I knew the biggest treat of all wouldn’t be the brunch, but rather what I had waiting for her at brunch. You see my Mother is one of the most selfless, giving, generous people I know. Always caring for others before herself, often pushing her needs and wants to the side, which means Mama K does not treat herself near enough. So along with brunch and blooms, I also had a new spring wardrobe waiting for her from one of our favorites, J.McLaughlin.
J.McLaughlin is a go-to for me when I’m in need of high quality, effortless looks that I (and Mom) will wear for years to come. For Mom, I picked out a few spring shirtdresses in punched up patterns I knew she could dress up for a date night with Dad, or throw on some sandals for a more casual day look. Because Mom loves color, I also snagged her these amazing silk and linen pants in marigold (I grabbed the ivory for myself), a blue gingham button down and easy summer sweater. I, of course, couldn’t resist picking up a few things for myself like this classic and comfortable stripe dress, pom-pom shorts because obviously they have pom-poms, and my soon to be worn-way-too-much palm river hat.
To say Mom was surprised by the day is an understatement. It helped that we celebrated early since little did she know she’d also be wrangled into a photo shoot, which honestly I wish you could have been a fly on the wall for. Let’s just say food styling and modeling are not Mama K’s forte, though she is rocking that dress pretty well. So what do you have up your sleeve to celebrate Mom this year? Truly, MKR
P.S. If you’re scratching your head over just what to get Mom this year, check out these timeless wardrobe pieces and gift ideas. I think I already know what Mama K is eyeing. xo

Planning an Easter tablescape, means setting the table for a happy, bright, and spring gathering. More importantly it means a chance to welcome loved ones around the table with great food and blessings.
To celebrate a special occasion like Easter Sunday, I’m always eager to set the table with anything and everything Juliska. Many of you will recognize the dinnerware as I’ve been gradually adding to my beautiful collection over the past few years. Its Country Estate line in Flint is perhaps my favorite design of all. Country Estate is anything but generic; its design makes every day dining just special enough, and is the perfect starting point when I’m dreaming up a table that is fit for a feast. The dinnerware sits atop green straw placemats, which have quickly become my favorite accompaniment to any place setting. Lastly, to bring a softness to the Easter tablescape, I used Juliska’s Arabella Petal Pink Goblets and Arabella Petal Pink Tumblers as the glassware.
What else to include, you ask? Seasonal, fresh flowers are always a must. But they’re made more festive in a moss “grown up” Easter basket, and when they’re accompanied by plenty of tiny, sweet signs of spring throughout the entire spread. Think delicate bird nests with festive speckled eggs, everyone’s favorite chocolate bunnies, fresh herbs, a carrot cake and macaroons I can not take credit for (thanks Williams Sonoma), but a few and mouth-watering main and side dishes I’m happy to say I can (recipes coming this week!). The table will be busy, yes, but with that busyness comes a certain vibrant energy to any space and gathering.
So, friends, to spread the Easter cheer, I’m thrilled to announce that one of our lucky readers will win $250 to Juliska to set their own stunning table at home. Though I do wish you luck settling on your purchase; Juliska makes hundreds of beautiful items for the table and home, so the selection will be a tough one (so naturally I say: start collecting!). Each piece is inspired by “the joy of bringing people together and helping create a happy home,” which as you know, is something I’m very passionate about as well. A big thank you to Juliska for the generous opportunity, and I wish you all the best of luck! Truly, MKR
