It’s safe to say that myself and the entire WOM team are hooked on essential oils. In fact, I really can’t remember life before them now.
It all started with two “gateway” oils as I like to call them…Peppermint and Lavender. And since then, I’ve racked up quite the essential oil stash and even started an entirely new brand, Waiting On Martha Everyday and Shoppe section dedicated to essential oils and wellness among other things. Whether I’m using them for all natural beauty, nontoxic cleaning, aromatherapy, cooking, or in easy DIY essential oil bath salt recipes like today, I’m all about the oils.
I’m also a big believer in self care, and taking baths is one of my favorite ways to unwind and just grow quiet. I’ve found that it’s a great time to infuse essential oils seamlessly into my . wellness routine, especially when paired with detoxifying Epsom salts.
Below, I’m sharing three incredibly simple and beneficial DIY essential oil bath salt remedies that you’ll love soaking up. One is wonderful for soothing tired muscles and tension, the other is great for bringing everything back to center in a harmonizing way, and the other is perfect for a jolt of inspired energy! Why We Love It This wonderful blend includes three of our all-time favorite oils, and ones we lovingly refer to as out “gateway oils” in the world of essential oils. The Epsom salt effectively alleviates any physical distractions we may be feeling at the time.
Energy Blend 4 drops Grapefruit Essential Oil
5 drops Tangerine Essential Oil
1 cup Epsom salt 1 tablespoon pink Himalayan salt

The irresistible scent of Grapefruit and Tangerine work together to invigorate and energize the mind and body. Epsom salt, when absorbed through the skin in the bath, helps to reduce inflammation, while Himalayan salt helps to detox the entire body.

When I first got into essential oils, I never imagined just how big a role they’d play in my everyday routine. I also had no idea essential oils would be my gateway into anything remotely “woo-woo” like healing crystals.

We have the tendency to dive right into wellness topics here—some well known and some not so well known. Everyday mind-and-body wellness is something both MKR and I are both passionate about learning and always improving upon. But sometimes we need to take a step back and get back to the basics.
See, I can talk to you for hours about purple plates, mushroom coffee and nootropics I’m currently trying at home, but I can also forget simple healthy daily habits just like the rest! So today I’m slowing down and revisiting six easy things that we should all be doing every day.

By now we generally understand the importance of nourishing our body with whole foods, and avoiding processed foods while working to limit sugar and alcohol. Taking a daily multi vitamin is a good, and easy, way to round out whatever the body may still be deficient in.

Creating a calming bedtime routine and target time to go “lights-off”, you’re setting your body up for a better night’s sleep, which will ultimately affect your next day and the one after that. My advice: make it enjoyable; light some candles, turn on a diffuser with soothing essential oils like lavender and chamomile, drink some nighttime tea, and read a few pages in bed.
Drinking enough water every day is really crucial to staying healthy. By hydrating properly, you’re helping to maintain the functions at every system in your body. A lot of times when we feel out of whack, drinking more water helps.
During all of the hustle and bustle of everyday life, sometimes it can be easy to forget the power of getting outside to feel happier and healthier. Consider ways you can soak up some Vitamin D from the sun and breathe in fresh air throughout your day and you won’t regret it…even if it’s for just a few minutes!
