Like I mentioned on Sunday, I’m absolutely taken by a new-to-me clothing company, Worth New York, and naturally I want the whole world to know about it. Duh.
Here, I’ve gravitated towards two looks that had my name written all over them. First, an easy stripe dress in a luscious silk organza. I’m always, always a fan of stripes, and this belted shirtdress is quite simply one of my new favorite items in my closet. It’s the right balance of breezy, and flowy yet structured, making me feel feminine, fun and effortlessly pulled together. Don’t be surprised when you find me in this dress all summer long, dressed up with heels, and dressed down with sandals.
Second, can we talk about this fantastic white fringe jacket and matching fringe skirt?! For any of you who’ve watched Can’t Buy Me Love you’ll understand when I say I feel just like Amanda Peterson lusting after her mother’s fringed suit, but instead of sneaking it from her closet, and then spilling wine all over it, I get to call this set mine and wear it all season long. The overall look is such a fun, not-too-serious take on a summer suit. And you know since coming from corporate America, I often miss dressing the part. There’s something to be said about how it makes you feel when you’re dressed up. This expressive duo is a great way for me to feel confident, yet still myself as I tackle my to-do list and attend engagements throughout the day. And the best part about this jacket and skirt? I can easily pare them down for a more casual look, like all of Worth’s collection, by splitting them up and wearing the jacket with jeans, and the skirt with a simple silk blouse.
You’re seeing two looks I’m loving, but honestly ever since the company debuted its seasonal collection for Summer 2016, I’m all heart eyes for every one of its easy dresses and iconic skirts for the warm days and cool nights ahead.
It’s easy to see that Worth New York nails smart luxury style. And by luxury, I mean some of the best quality I’ve seen in clothing in awhile. Since the moment I slipped these pieces on, I didn’t want to take them off (which says a lot, because quite often formal pieces can seem constricting and stuffy to me). But Worth understands that at our busy lives call for a more personalized approach at clothing shopping, and it takes a unique approach to offering just that. While not sold in retail stores, the items are instead sold at trunk shows and via personal stylists as they work closely with you to fit you in gorgeous pieces that are perfect for each event, each business trip and each timeless wardrobe. The company believes in empowering women by making them feel confident in their clothes, but also by encouraging them to start their own business as stylists. And the result is genius; Worth truly takes the guessing out of quality wardrobe essentials, all while making you feel like a million bucks. Truly, MKR
