Get Your Jingle On, The Waiting On Martha Pop Up Shop

Christmas has definitely come early for me and my WOM family.  You see, a key was delivered earlier this week, a key that unlocks something I’ve been dreaming about since before I can remember.  A brick and mortar Shop.  That’s right Loves, this Holiday Season Waiting On Martha will transform a big (like really big) empty space at Shops Around Lenox, into an actual window-display-open-seven-days-a-week-how-can-I-help-you-Shop.

Like everything we seem to do the timeline is tight.  We have just a little over a week to make this all happen with doors swinging wide open to the public next Friday, November 21st at 10:00 am and we’ll stay open throghout the entire season, closing December 30th.  Along with all of the goodies you can always find in the WOM Shop we’ll also be bringing in local talent with sunglasses from Red’s Outfitters, aprons from Ice Milk Aprons, Jewelry by Avindy, Shoes & Accessories for the ever so stylish gentleman by Res Ipsa, and Ashley Woodson Bailey original prints and her new bag collaboration with Very Fine South.

Another dream coming to fruition will be the chance to spread the love with a little holiday workshop.  On November 22nd and 29thfrom 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, Lindsay Coletta and I will be teaching a holiday entertaining and flower arranging class.  I’ll be sharing different holiday place setting examples plus throughout the class you’ll be toasting and tasting different holiday cocktails, appetizers, and desserts leaving with all the recipes.  Lindsay will be talking all about seasonal arrangements from wreaths to garlands and you’ll work with her to create your very own to take home.  Added bonus, you’ll be able to purchase holiday blooms from Lindsay for future delivery and by taking the class you’ll be entitled to 15% off anything in The Shop that day.  Seating is limited to ten per class and I know there has been a lot of interest so make sure to grab a friend and sign up asap!

So who’s ready to get their jingle on?  Truly, MKR

P.S.  We’re looking to for some holiday elves to work the Shop and ship out orders so if you’re in Atlanta and hoping to spread some cheer please email your resume asap to waitingonmartha@gmail.com.  Also we need a visual artist to help create and install window installations next week…SCAD students can you hear me?  Email or comment below!

If you live in Atlanta then you know all about The Avalon (for those of you not in the A it’s a big shiny new work-live-outdoor shopping center).  And recently I had the opportunity to make the journey to check out Lou & Grey.  Have you heard of Lou & Grey yet?  Lou & Grey is part of the Ann Taylor family and was born to “add texture to a life more considered.”  Focusing on dressed up basics and pieces that make women feel beautiful without feeling fussy.

Upon entering Lou & Grey I was immediately drawn to it’s open, airy and cool aesthetic.  Clothing was sorted by color, hanging from copper pipes with rows of vintage records lined underneath.  Handmade leather chairs flanked tables filled with books, candles, and dainty jewelry from independent artists while textiles and pillows lined the shelves.  As I perused the racks I was impressed with not only the craftsmanship of everything, but also the cost.  It’s hard to find reasonably priced, well made pieces that are both on trend yet classic so when I do I load up.

After hours in the dressing room, and a quick episode with leather leggings, I finally settled on this monotone navy ensemble that is as comfortable as it is versatile with the ability to be dressed up with heels or dressed down with flats.  I also snagged quite a few everyday basics like the layering tank in every color available, these leggings, and two zip tunics.  And I can’t get this dress out of my head so I may make a quick trip back there this weekend, (I wasn’t kidding when I said I’m loading up).  So tell me, are you loving on Lou & Grey as much as me?   Truly,MKR

P.S.  If you don’t have a Lou & Grey near you and are ordering online I suggest ordering a size down as their pieces run a tad big.

You last heard me talk about the love I have for my Nespresso VertuoLine here, but during this time of year that my Nespresso machine gets used more than anything else in my house.  For the obvious early morning rise and caffinate of course, but also Nespresso is perfect for the after dinner coffee.  Why is that (other than the obvious reason) you ask?  Because Nespresso has the ability to make everyone happy.  Decaf for the mother in law, no problem.  Black for dad, easy.  Espresso for the Mr., sure.  Half calf with extra chocolate sauce for mom, coming right up.  Nespresso VertuoLine allows everyone to have exactly what they want with the touch of a button and the hostess can just sit back and relax instead of catering to everyone’s need for something different.

So this year instead of storing and making ten different kinds of coffee use that time and create a coffee toppings bar like I did.  All you need is a few different types of Nespresso capsules, marshmallows, toffee or peppermint swizzle sticks, a gingerbread house or two, and toppings like whip cream, chocolate sauce, and peppermint flakes.  Oh and don’t forget the Baileys!  Nothing goes better with Nespresso’s Vanizio than homemade whip cream, chocolate sauce, and a pour or two of Baileys.  Cheers!  Truly, MKR

P.S.  Right now Nespresso is offering a $100 credit with the purchase of any Nespresso machine $199 and above!
