Pretty in Pink Grapefruit, Elderflower & Rosemary Vodka Cocktail

Pucker Up with This Mouth-Watering Grapefruit Cocktail by Project Sip

Well guys, our friends at Project Sip have really done it again; this time serving up a mouth-watering grapefruit cocktail with rosemary.  If you’re looking for the perfect, light sip to pucker up to this Valentine’s Day, look no further.

The taste and tartness of grapefruit can stand alone in cocktail for some, but as Jenn and Kathryn have proven with Pretty in Pink, grapefruit plays wonderfully with the sweet and aromatic notes of St. Germain Elderflower.  St. Germain is one of our favorite ways to liven up a cocktail—it’s always just the perfect amount of sweet—and it certainly doesn’t disappoint in this recipe. As for the final touch: a hint of woodsy, fresh rosemary to garnish (which looks beautiful in its simplicity, doesn’t it?). Cheers, Kat

A Trip To The Farm

A few weeks ago, my friend and photog Kathryn and I escaped the city to celebrate the launch of the Rural Art Farm Cottages at Serenbe.  The launch gave us a peek at small house living; we poked around the cottages that will serve as artists’ new digs, all constructed by architecture students at Auburn University.  We knew we were in for a treat…especially since our friends (and noted designers) Steve McKenzie & Kerry Howard created the gorgeous interiors

Being back at Serenbe also reminded me just what a little road trip can do for your soul; you feel so removed from the hustle and bustle of the city, and you’re only 45 minutes away.  But when we hopped in the car, I was in no way prepared for just how FREEZING it was that day (I swear it almost snowed)!  Skipping around to get warm in my fave platform sneakers (actually so comfortable), I was happy to at least have my camel Campaign coat and my wool fedora to keep a little heat in. And of course, being hands-free thanks to my Christmas present to myself (talk about a beautiful cross-body bag) helped too.  Now if only I had remembered some mittens!  Truly, MKR

Stop! Apple Thyme Cocktail

A Belly-Warming Drink from Project Sip that Tastes like Quintessential Fall

Any time our dear friends at Project Sip mix up something new, we know we’re going to love it (remember their Old Fashioned?!).  Well our favorite mixologists have done it again with today’s quintessential cold-weather cocktail that warms your belly with each sip.

The inspiration for this tasty libation? Jenn and Kathryn explain it as “dreaming of cozy fall nights by a fire. We’ve paired the crispness of apples with a smooth whisky bourbon to capture the elements of fall in a drink.”

Stop! Apple Thyme is not playing around; a double shot of whiskey, double shot of apple brandy, a shot of thyme simple syrup and a splash of lemon juice make for the perfect mouth-watering blend.  So grab your cozy plaid throw and meet us by the fire, drink in-hand!  Cheers, Kat
