Waiting on Martha's Thanksgiving Guide

With all of the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, sometimes you just want a one-stop guide for all your entertaining needs.  Since we like to think of Thanksgiving as basically our Super Bowl here at WOM, we find such joy (and maybe even an adrenaline rush!) in culling the best recipes and most beautiful details for the Big Day.

So let me introduce you to our gorgeous new Thanksgiving Guide, a clickable e-mag that features everything you need to host your own beautiful gathering.  In the guide, we’ve featured some of our most popular Thanksgiving recipes that are sure to please any crowd (hello green bean casserole!), along with our favorite hand-selected products to get the job done.

But we’re not stopping there. Also in the guide, you’ll find my top five secrets to styling a stunning spread, along with a fool-proof entertaining timeline to ensure everything goes smoothly. We’re sharing our tasty menu, but be sure to download the printable menu to customize yours at home, along with the hand-lettered conversation cards and place cards by our girl Jenn Gietzen

Throughout the guide you’ll also find the smiling faces of some of our favorite tastemakers (big hugs to you all!); we invited them to weigh in with their own great entertaining tips and day-of essentials.  I think you’ll agree that our guide is jam-packed with all of the inspiration and takeaways you’ll need to host a very special gathering this year.  Check out the guide HERE and tell me,  who’s ready for Turkey Day?? Truly, MKR

This past weekend, chefs, sommeliers, and food lovers alike descended upon midtown Atlanta to celebrate what is and what’s to come in all that is Southern cuisine at Atlanta Food and Wine Festival.  While I’ve always been an active participant, this year I had the opportunity to also style and design the Connoisseur Dinner Series.

I’ll let the gorgeous images speak for themselves, but with each intimate dinner, I wanted to keep things simple, personal and most importantly, let the star of the show–the wine and food–shine.  For dinner in “the mountains” we welcomed guests to the Preserving Place with rich florals from Laura McCarty, wooden and gold planters filled with moss, and a long scrolling menu hung from the ceiling and hand lettered by Jenn Gietzen of Write On! Design.  For “the coast” we set the longest table we could find poolside on the roof of 1065 Midtown.  Driftwood, hand lettered stones, and Gertie Mae’s Floral Studio cool-toned florals set the mood.  And when the sun set, and after a few glasses of wine were poured, I swear you could smell the salt water if you tried hard enough.  Truly, MKR

This Monday needs a little more cocktail and a little less Monday, are we right?  Here’s another fantastic cocktail recipe from our friends and creative partners Jenn Gietzen and Kathryn McCrary with #ProjectSip.  This rhubarb old fashioned cocktail has the power to take the bite out of a mean Monday and has us counting down until next happy hour.  With a little bourbon, blood orange and rhubarb you have yourself a winning drink. Cheers, Kat
