I’ve always been a fan of a great at-home bar. I strongly believe it’s a must-learn life skill to mix up classic cocktails, and as an avid host, it’s important to provide an array...
Looking back on Easter as a child, I remember how excited I was to dig through my Easter basket. Full of chocolate bunnies, malt ball Easter eggs, Peeps, golden coins, and my favorite Cadbury...

MKR’s taught me a few things (to say the least), and a love for wallpaper is one of them. I’m not talking about safe, traditional wallpaper. I’m talking about bold wallpaper that really makes a room pop. Some of you may be saying “yes, yes!” to your computer screen right now, and others are shaking your head and pursing your lips.
Well I don’t know why wallpaper always gets such a bad rap…I think maybe it was the 70’s generation with its tired greens and muted mustards that scarred my mother (who then taught me to fear all papered walls). But our wildly popular list of wallpaper opened my world to bold options that truly transform a space, and I 100% became a believer in bold wallpaper the second I stepped into MKR’s powder room covered in Thibaut’s orange cheetah print (and I can’t forget the Thibaut Tanzania in the WOM offices).
If you’re hesitant to wallpaper, I don’t blame you, but you’ll be so happy you did. From what I’ve learned, it’s safest to stick to smaller spaces such as entryways, hallways, stairwells and powder rooms and let the paper’s personality run wild. As you can see in the slideshow above, bold wallpaper can really make the room. As you saw in yesterday’s post, Lindsay Cowles’ gorgeous paper definitely made MKR’s space at the ADAC Rathbuns’ Event! Cheers, Kat

More often than not, I find myself working in bed into all hours of the night. And as you know, I take the definition of “my space” very seriously, so having a proper nightstand for those #GSD, late-night hours is no exception. Combining form and function, my nightstand houses all of my must-haves within arm’s reach, while still holding to the rest of the bedroom’s design. So whether you’re burning the midnight oil or starting your week off on a fresh start, enjoy your space with these seven nightstand essentials. Truly, MKR
No. One. A great lamp. This one from Times Two Design is a great example of a lamp that ties the room together, while offering the most perfect subtle pop of gold. Not to mention, the jagged quartz is just glam enough to balance out the rustic feel of the wood nightstand.
No. Two. A carafe for water. Using a carafe eliminates any unsightly plastic bottles, while allowing me to have plenty of water close by without running up and downstairs to the kitchen.
No. Three. Fresh flowers. While I know fresh flowers can be a splurge, they are worth every penny because of the pure joy they bring me. This extra touch can easily boost your mood and bring a little more pretty to the start (and end) of your day. To save money choose flowers that will naturally last longer like hydrangeas, tulips, and wild flowers. Make sure to clip the bottoms and change the water daily to lengthen their life.
No. Four. A candle. And this candle not only smells heavenly, it can be enjoyed long after its burning days are done holding makeup brushes on a vanity, pens and pencils on a desk, etc.
No. Five.Notebooks. You never know when inspiration will strike, and since I’m always working in bed, that happens a lot bedside. These notebooks from Minnie & Emma are the perfect size, and I keep my drawer stocked and ready to go.
No. Six. A bowl full of necessities. At any given time, I’ll reach for one of the following: chapstick, hand cream, Advil or essential oils. My favorite bowl serves as a pretty place to store it all.
No. Seven. Trinket tray. I hate sleeping in any jewelry, so I need a place to corral it all and keep it safe. These bestselling trays are the perfect size to do just that.

I think it’s safe to say that Pinterest, hands down, has changed the motivational game. With countless inspirational quotes floating around and going viral, it’s obvious to see that we all enjoy a good reminder to be our better selves every now and then. I can speak for the entire WOM team in saying that we sure love us some words to live by. In fact, we have an entire board dedicated to them; the quotes that calm us, the quotes that entertain us and of course the quotes that inspire us. I’ve rounded up five inspirational quotes that are currently really speaking to me personally in the slideshow above, along with a few gifts from the Shop with great one-liners below. Do any of the quotes resonate with you right now, too? Do you have a favorite mantra you return to, time and time again? Cheers, Kat

BE A GIVER
I THINK BEING A GIVER CAN SOMETIMES BE ASSOCIATED WITH WEAKNESS. BUT BEING A GIVER CAN EQUAL STRENGTH TOO, AS MY MOM HAS TAUGHT ME THROUGH HER UNWAVERING CONSIDERATION AND SELFLESSNESS OVER THE YEARS. I'M STRIVING TO BE A GIVER OF THE THINGS THAT I HOPE DEFINE ME: COMPASSION, POSITIVITY AND STRENGTH.
IT'S ALL TOO EASY TO DREAM ABOUT SUCCESS, AND EXPECT IT TO HAPPEN OVERNIGHT. AS PART OF A SMALL BUSINESS, I'M REMINDED OF THIS POINT ALL THE TIME: YOU GOTTA TAKE THE STAIRS IF YOU PLAN TO SUCCEED. THERE ARE RARELY SHORTCUTS TO TAKE, AND SUCCESS WON'T JUST BE HANDED TO YOU. IT WON'T ALL BE PRETTY, AND YOU'LL FIND YOURSELF IN THE TRENCHES, BUT THE REWARDS ARE WORTH IT ALL TENFOLD.
WHEN DID WE ALL START COMPETING WITH EACH OTHER? IT'S WAY TOO EASY TO COMPARE OUR CRAFT WITH OTHERS', BUT IT'S ALL JUST WASTED ENERGY IN THE END. I KNOW THIS QUOTE SERVES AS A SIMPLE REMINDER TO ME PERSONALLY TO SUPPORT OTHERS, FUEL THE FEED OF INSPIRATION AND IGNITE DEEPER CREATIVITY IN THE SPACE.
MY LIFE MANTRA RIGHT NOW, THIS QUOTE PERFECTLY SUMS UP MY AIM TO LIVE MORE INTENTIONALLY. WITHOUT REALIZING IT, WE FALL INTO RUTS AND ROUTINES, BUT LIFE IS TRULY TOO SHORT TO LET THAT HAPPEN. BY CHOOSING TO WORK HARDER, EAT HEALTHIER, AND LOVE LONGER, WE CAN DISCOVER A MORE VIVID FORM OF OURSELVES.
AS I GROW OLDER, I'M FINDING MYSELF. I'M COMING TO REALIZE THAT FAULTS AND FLAWS AND ALL OF THE FEELS HELP MAKE ME WHO I AM. I'M LEARNING THAT NO APOLOGIES ARE NEEDED FOR MY PERSONALITY.
