When people ask for tips on how to wear a denim on denim outfit, I always like to say that the key is mixing tones. If the outfit itself was not meant to be monochromatic (ie. a matching set purchased together), but rather a combo of a few of your favorite wardrobe essentials, think about layering to create an unfussy yet cohesive look. For example, I find that this is especially true with blues, and always, always, always with chambray.
I opted for this great chambray top in “Tall” because I hate when shirts aren’t long enough, and of course our friends at J.Crew know that the struggle of too-short button-up shirts is very real.
This beautiful chained bandana adds a little cowboy edge to the denim on denim look, while giving it a fun, modern and somewhat girly twist by serving like jewelry. Bandanas are back in a BIG way, and I love seeing them tied around the neck to complete a casual cool look. A bandana like this one can be considered a modern take on one of the oldest American accessories if you think about it!
I always turn to it for an easy style solution that never makes me look like I’m trying too hard. Tell me, would you rock a denim on denim outfit? Truly, MKR
