When in doubt: throw on an all black outfit.  There’s no denying how effortlessly chic an all black outfit is, and when it’s made up of timeless wardrobe essentials…well, you’ll find yourself gravitating to it even when you swear you have “nothing to wear.”

I’m a BIG fan of any versatile outfit that can take me from daytime meetings to drinks after hours. Case in point with this all black outfit…I can run around during the day in comfort in my favorite pair of white loafers (seen here and here). I’ve literally ran in these loafers through the airport when Kat and I almost missed our flight to Caneel Bay. But on a busy day, I can bring along my patent leather pumps to slip on as we make our way to happy hour.  I’ve mentioned this before, but I always stick to patent leather for a timeless black pump because patent leather won’t scuff as easily as soft leather or suede, making them a smart wardrobe staple. And this pair won’t break the bank as quickly as, say, a pair of Manolos.  Though I am a BIG fan of Manolos

By now you’ll recognize my beloved leather jacket, and don’t worry it’s still one of my most valued items in my closet (and it just gets better with age!).  The jacket quickly evens out the fancy feeling my tasseled top brings making everything not too fussy.  I’m also wearing my go-to classic black pants that go with just about everything in my closet all year around.  The pop of “color” to my all black outfit today…well, it’s another neutral which is a-okay with me. My cross-body bag in supple camel is a definite favorite in my closet these days; a bag which I can easily hold or throw over my shoulder as I meet and greet with drink in-hand. Truly, MKR

Sunday’s Best With Draper James

Dressed to the Nines in Reese Witherspoon's New & Charming Label

I’m always drawn to a shirtdress, and this navy short sleeve dress by Draper James (Reese Witherspoon’s new and positively charming brand) had my name written all over it. It’s my favorite color, it’s super flattering AND it has pockets, which was a definite hook-line-and-sinker for me because any dress with pockets is genius by me.  In fact I’ve come to love pockets so that I get angry when a dress or skirt doesn’t have them; I mean why not always have pockets?  But that’s a different rant for a different day.

Anyway, I plan to style the Acklen shirtdress numerous was to take me from spring to summer, though I think it was truly created for “Sunday’s best.”  Though on days other than Sunday I plan wear it with heels and some fancy jewels for a night on the town, and paired with flats and a denim jacket for a comfortable, easy day-at-the-farmer’s-market vibe.

The beauty of this shirtdress is it doesn’t need much styling. But here I added a fun, bright jeweled necklace (similar here) to really bring out the floral collar and paired it with my favorite grey suede pumps to complete the look.  Lastly, I’m majorly crushing on this circle crossbody bag!  It’s so versatile; so don’t be surprised if you see it many, many more times.

In the words of Reese, I’m just “pleased as punch” with the dress, and the whole Draper James collection.  I mean have you checked out their home and giftable goodies?  I think I need this, this, and of course this.  I mean wine not?  Truly, MKR
