The perfect pair of jeans (n.): Perfectly worn-in, hugging you in all the right places.  A pair you can move in; a pair that makes you feel good the second you pull them on.  The perfect pair will never have you tugging at belt loops every time you stand up, but may require that cute shimmy as you get ready for date night.  A pair you’ll have forever.

We tried Seven for All Mankind, we tried Gap, we tried Madewell and AG.  We brought out our tried-and-true favorite pairs from Old Navy, PAIGE, J.Crew, Rag & Bone, FRAME denim, Blank NYC and Current/Elliott.  The team’s mission?  To find THE perfect jeans.  We looked at high-low options of this iconic fashion staple  (from $32 all the way to $295) and inspected each pair’s fit, material and wearability.  At times throughout the afternoon we felt a little weary (trying on pairs that made us swear we were getting back into the gym starting tomorrow), but at other times we were wiggling around in joy over the fantastic fit.

We quickly found that each of us had our favorites, and by the end of the day, we all agreed that the perfect jeans looked different on everyone.  From flares to skinnies to boyfriends and bootlegs, the options are virtually endless when it comes to jeans.  And we also agreed that very much like dating; it takes a lot of wrong fits before you find the right fit.

Below, you’ll find a break-down of the team’s picks plus their favorite tip on how to find the best jean for you.  Tell us, have you found the perfect jeans?!  Truly, MKR

Mandy Kellogg Rye, WOM Founder & Creative Director: “Stick to what works.  It’s easy to fall into each year’s trend.  Please by all means, try those high waisted, frayed, ripped, uneven hem pairs on.  But don’t let the season’s trend sway you to spending big bucks on a pair that doesn’t make you feel like a million bucks.”

Self-described body type: athletic with wider hips

My Favorites: Current/Elliott I discovered thanks to my recent Trunk Club delivery.  But over the years, I’ve always had my tried-and-true Hudson skinny jeans.  My favorite less expensive options include Gap boyfriend and J.Crew boyfriend jeans.”

Kat Neunaber, WOM Editorial Director: “Always note the material content of the jeans (some jeans are way stretchier than others).”

Self-described body type: tall, with skinny legs and wider hips

My favorites:  I’m pretty consistent with my love affair with 7 for All Mankind when it comes to skinny jeans…they simply fit me the best (skinny legs with wider hips), and the material makes them easy to move in.  When I’m on a budget, I turn to Gap because I think the entire line looks just as good as any designer versions. But since I am OBSESSED with jeans, I tend to invest in only one or two great pairs per year (to then wear the heck out of them).  When that’s the case, I don’t mind dishing out the cash for a solid pair.

While I always need a good pair of skinnies, I’ve actually found that I really just love nonstretchy jeans…they hold me in all the right places!  As stated above I’m careful to check out the material description whenever trying a new pair online (cotton with only a hair of elastane is the magic equation). I have a pair of nonstretchy Joe’s (the Cooper Skinny Ankle to be exact) that I literally cannot part with, and I can’t find available anywhere.  What was once a distressed boyfriend jean is now a worn-in, loved staple pair with holes a little too big.  They’re the best!”

Liz Bargamian, WOM Business Manager: “Always read customer reviews when purchasing online, it will help you suss out true coloring, size, and overall fit.”

Self-described body type: slender, less curves

My favorites:  I just bought this pair from Madewell; the high-riser skinny skinny in the Hammond wash.  I felt a little crazy because I’ve never had high-rise jeans before (they go up to like an inch under my belly button) but the girl at the store assured me that once you go high rise you never go back, haha.  I kinda believe her!  I wore them this weekend and really liked that they were high rise but didn’t feel restricting at all.  I also really love the undone hemming at the bottom.”

Kate Moore, WOM Associate: “Stock up on a style when you finally find the right one!”

Self-described body type: petite, with a little junk in the trunk

My favorites: I would have to say my favorite brand is FRAME denim. For me,FRAME jeans have been the most figure- flattering and I like that the back pockets are discreet, without any obvious branding. Even though they’re pretty expensive, it’s easy to find them on sale, and I think the quality matches the price. If I’m getting specific, their Le High Skinny Jeans are my favorite pair!”

The List: My Recent Binge-Worthy Beauty Buys

From White Sage Smudge Sticks, Sunday Riley, An On-the-Go Bling Brush & More...here are the beauty products I'm currently binging on
Filed Under > Beauty & Tutorials

Essential oils, white sage smudge sticks, renewing serum, all natural face wash & more | @waitingonmartha

I’ve finally admitted to myself that I’ve been on a bit of a beauty product binge this summer.  Maybe it’s because I’ve been switching over to a lot of natural and holistic products, (think white sage smudge sticks).  Maybe it’s because the older I get, the more I truly understand that taking care of my skin should be top priority.  But whatever the reason, I don’t see this binging stopping any time soon.  So today, I’m sharing a few new binge-worthy picks that have earned their coveted spot on my vanity, with a few oldies that I’ve fallen in love with all over again.

Starting with the newcomers; Sunday Riley, Sapelo Skin Care and Damn Good Face Wash have continued my obsession with oils and the art of a proper daily beauty routine.  Aerin, Tom Ford and Morrocanoil have resurfaced, and officially earned spots on my forever list.  And on the holistic side of things, I’ve possibly gone off the deep end misting essential oils in numerous rooms, keeping three different himelayan salt lamps burning at all times, and I may or may not be lighting white sage smudge sticks around the house to purify the air.  I swear everything just feels more pure.  Read on below for a few of my other current faves, and please let me know if there’s anything you’re binging on right now!  Truly, MKR

No. 1…Essential Oils & Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser.  I’ve been on a huge essential oils kick lately, and I have this diffuser running every night with relaxing lavender essential oil

No. 2…Sunday Riley Good Genes All-in-One Lactic Acid Treatment. This stuff definitely has a cult following, as you can see from these reviews. I, of course, had to see what all the buzz was about, and I totally get it now.  After only a few uses, I felt my skin’s texture dramatically improve (smoothing out acne scars and fine lines), and I swear I do have a little glow about me!

No. 3…Tom Ford Cream Cheek Color. Though the palette looks a bit coral-y, this cream blush would look good on practically anyone. I tap a little bit on my finger and put on my nose and cheekbones. The color is dewy and goes on wonderfully…and a little goes a long way.

No. 4…NARS Larger Than Life Eyeliner. I really just love a good blue eyeliner; it makes the eyes pop. This one by NARS lasts throughout the day too, which is good because there’s nothing worse than glancing in the mirror later in the day to find that all of your eyeliner has disappeared!

No. 5…Tom Ford Cream & Powder Eye Color. Besides the fact that this bronzey-gold is absolutely jaw-dropping, I love that this eyeshade duo is wet AND dry.  This duo, however, is not cheap.  But what I’ve found is that I use so very little (seriously I only use like one tiny drop) it will likely last for a year.

No. 6…White Sage Smudge Sticks.
As I said above I have went full boar and bought into this ancient incense to purify the air in my home.  To use, you simply light the smudge sticks on fire and let them smolder, filling the room with the healing scent of sage.  If you really have some trouble areas you’re supposed to open the windows and doors and waft the smoke over the troubled area (ie spots with ghosts or bad juju) and out the window or door.

No. 7…Aerin Mediterranean Honeysuckle.  I’ve been a longtime fan of Aerin fragrances, and I knew I had to try this one the second I saw it.  I’m thrilled (but not surprised) to say that this one does not disappoint.

No. 8…Bling Brush.  I am just so in love with this on-the-go jewelry cleaner.  It looks a little like concealer, but it’s actually a natural cleaner for your diamonds!  It’s so easy to use, and it truly makes my diamonds shine like they do when I get them professionally cleaned.  AND it’s only $18.

No. 9…Moroccanoil Treatment. My hair has felt extra dry lately, so I’ve come back to the Moroccanoil line. I used to use the stuff religiously for years, and am happy to see its luxurious effects on my locks again. I also have the hydrating shampoo and conditioner – which are both game-changers.

No. 10…Sapelo Renewing Serum. I use this heavenly face serum as the first step in my daily skincare routine, after cleansing.  Being water-based, the serum gives my face and neck a full hydration one-over, while delivering other essential nutrients that my skin happily soaks up.  It’s super moisturizing and super effective; I’ve noticed my skin feels tighter and firmer thanks to boosted collagen and elastin production. The ladies behind Sapelo and its amazing nature-based southern skincare line are SO worth checking out.

No. 11…Damn Good Face Wash The Works. This handmade, all-natural and ultra nourishing facial wash is a recent Etsy find.  The face wash is coconut-oil based, and works to pull impurities and toxins out of the skin, while combating blemishes. Love love love.

N0. 12…Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil.  Another find from the brand with a true cult following, the Luna Sleeping Night Oil.  I put this oil on my face and neck before going to bed, and have kept at it to shrink pores and smooth out some new lines.

If you’re following along on Instagram and Snapchat (username WAITINGONMARTHA), you’ll know that I’m currently in England (!) for the week.  But because the trip was short notice, and with everything else going on, I had no time to properly shop for the cooler weather that jumping the pond would bring.  So in order to see London and explore the English countryside properly, I had to figure out how to fill my suitcase with cozy sweaters, boots, hats and jackets.  Enter Trunk Club

If you’re not familiar with Trunk Club yet, I’d suggest you become familiar because it is a game-changer.  In short, Trunk Club is a personal styling service for women and men, and while it’s perfect for those with no time to shop (me), it’s also perfect for those looking for a little guidance in building a well-stocked wardrobe.  When you sign up, you’re paired with a personal stylist who curates a “trunk” of clothing and accessories based on your style and sizes with major brands such as Vince, Theory, Joie, Equipment, Splendid, Current / Elliott and more.

I know what you’re thinking: that sounds pretty amazing, but that also sounds like a lot of pressure to buy.  But here’s the beauty, Trunk Club is NOT a subscription service like similar wardrobe styling brands.  Which means there are no subscription fees, shipping is always free, and most importantly…no pressure.  I loved my stylist; she was anything but “salesy”, and she hand-picked some great pieces that really fit my personal style.

So here’s how it worked: after talking with my stylist she put together a trunk that I was able to review before it even shipped out, ensuring that I was receiving pieces that I was interested in purchasing. Once the trunk arrived I was given five days to try on the items from my trunk, with free return shipping for all of the items I didn’t wish to purchase.  The whole process was seamless and painless, and at the end of the day I pulled the trigger on jeans, boots, and the gorgeous DVF red coat!

Lastly, and because I’m such a sucker for packaging, I might add that Trunk Club’s trunk packaging is on point.  Everything was perfectly folded and wrapped in ribbon in the cardboard trunk (just waiting to be Instagrammed!).  Opening my trunk felt a little like Christmas morning, unwrapping a bundle of goodies…it really is an experience.  Truly, MKR
