17 Best Sungalsses at Every Price Point, Including these Celine Sunglasses

We had a taste of spring this past weekend and it was THE BEST THING EVER.  On Sunday, we picked up a bouquet from Amelia’s Flower Truck and ate some amazing vegan, dairy-free ice cream in East Nashville.  I had such a great time exploring neighborhoods I usually don’t frequent, while soaking up some Vitamin D and trading my heavy coat for a light military jacket.  The weather was great; we even turned around a few minutes after we left home to get sunglasses (never complaining about needing those!).

I have my tried-and-true shades that I’ve had for years; a pair of classic Aviators, a pair of black frames and a pair of tortoise frames.  They’re all dependable, classic and universally flattering.  I’ve learned to take care of them, and I usually have at least one pair in my hand bag for when I’m on the go.  But I’ve got to admit, every time spring rolls around, I can’t help but want a few new pairs of shades…there are just so many good ones!  I have my eyes on a Celine pair that I consider to be a “forever pair”…I’d have to take extra care of them if I fork over $250+.  But I also found a few trendier styles (like these and these) that have price tags low enough to tempt me to take a few risks and have a fun pair or two in my bag for patio season happy hours

Check out my list of top sunglasses at every price point below, and then tell me, have you invested in a “forever pair”?  Or do you stick to the ones you won’t feel bad about losing?!  I’d love to hear it in the comments below.  Happy almost-spring!  Cheers, Kat

P.S. Aside from them completing an #OOTD, sunglasses play a super important role in protecting your eyes from sun damage; they filter light and they protect your eyes from the damaging UV rays. This will help decrease the risk of cataracts, macular degeneration and skin cancer someday…so put the shades on! xo

Thick Frame Sunglasses

Prada, $385

Shop Now >

These are next on my list personally; MKR has them and I tried them on and fell. in. love.  They’re perfectly lightweight, have a subtle tortoise color (they’re practically solid…just how I like it), and they have a great oversized shape for larger, round faces.  I personally have thick eyebrows at a unique arch, so I have a hard time finding sunglasses that don’t look funky up top. This pair is the solution! Since the price tag is high, I’ll be snagging these on sale (like right now during the Shopbop sale!).

'Reflected' 52mm Sunglasses

Dior, $475

Shop Now >

The object of many girls’ envy…Dior’s signature geometric frames that hit the scene a year or two ago.  These aren’t for the faint of heart, but they’re utterly amazing if you can fork over the $475 for them.

A Dead Coffin Club Sunglasses

Valley Eyewear, $300

Shop Now >

MKR can’t stop raving about this pair of sunglasses, in fact, she’s still heartbroken they fell off in the water last summer. The round frames are substantial and won’t run the risk as much as others to be stretched out or broken. The “snow leopard tortoise” color is unique and eye-catching, ensuring that you’ll be the coolest girl in the pack.

Mryte 61mm Sunglasses

Chloe, $310

Shop Now >

When did Chloe ever do anything subtle?!  These oversized sunglasses (61mm!) completely nail the eclectic-retro-boho-babe vibe.  They’re not cheap, so I’d say go this route if you’ve worn your similar $16 Urban Outfitters pair into the festival ground.

Air Heart Sunglasses

Le Specs, $69

Shop Now >

Here’s a great classic black-frame pair that won’t set you back more than $69! Le Specs offers great everyday shades that are made well, and can play with their expensive counterparts.

Original Aviator 58mm Sunglasses

Ray-Ban, $175

Lastly, nobody does the aviator like Ray-Ban. This original 58mm pair is a wardrobe staple because of the fact that they’re flattering on practically every single face size and shape. Stick to this pair if you want solid shades without the flair; they’ll transcend season after season if you take care of them.

I know spring has been teasing us all, but it’s not quite here yet!  And the fickle weather makes it difficult to dress up for a night out or special event.  My solution?  An ultra stylish look that’s still just the right amount of cozy and fancy.

First off, can we talk about this sweater??  I think it’s safe to say that ruffle sleeves took us all by storm this past year.  I have this tiered ruffle sleeve sweater in both black and grey—and I wear them all of the time.  The price point is great ($78), especially if you’re on the fence about the ruffles.

And the skirt!  Well, I fell in love at first sight with this olive green suede and leather midi skirt…it’s a forever piece!  We had a ball at the Tibi outlet when we were in Sea Island last month for The Southern C Summit, and this amazing skirt was part of my haul.  I just love how luxurious the suede looks and feels as it’s wrapped around the waist, and how the leather panel subtly shows on the side.  There’s also a covered pocket (!) which is always, always a selling point for me.  The rich olive color is a nice transitional tone; I know I’m wearing this piece with a sweater nonstop now, and with a ruffle tank like this one come spring!

But let’s not forget about these shoes.  I actually purchased these gold Gucci heels before Christmas; they were pre-order but I just knew they were going to be worth the wait. I had major FOMO not getting them last year, and I was not going to miss out again!  I almost forgot about these beauties until they arrived on my doorstep…and it was pure joy opening them up!  They’re decently priced for Gucci, and they’re versatile enough for me to justify the price tag.  These are the kind of shoes I’ll be dressing up and down; the gold is dressy enough for a special event, but the style is casual enough to pair with my favorite boyfriend jeans. You know I love those pieces that work double-duty.  Truly, MKR

First Signs of Spring

Springing Forward with the perfect Floral Dress

I recently enjoyed a tease of spring when we were in South Carolina for a few days.  Fortunately, the nice weather followed us home, as it’s been unseasonably warm in the A lately.  I’d be lying if I said I’m not giddy with the thought of sitting on a patio somewhere, sipping my glass of favorite rose, even if it’s only February.

And as I look forward to spring, I can’t help but think also about my spring wardrobe. Yes I hear Meryl’s voice ringing in my ears, “Florals for spring? Groundbreaking.” when I type this, but really, I can’t think of a better nod to this warm weather than this pink floral dress by Draper James!  With it’s fit and flare silhouette the Dunaway Vines Bow Dress is ultra flattering and effortlessly feminine, making it SO fun to wear.  Along with these under-$100 velvet heels, blue Les Bonbons earrings (less expensive version HERE) and Celine sunglasses, it’s impossible not to feel excited at the thought of permanent warm weather.

While I love that the dress is ultra girly, as many of you by now know, I love playing with extremes.  Downplaying an ultra feminine feel with a stronger masculine one like my moto leather jacket ands white fringe bag.  This navy blue leather jacket has proved to be quite the versatile piece, fitting perfect with even the girliest of dresses to ripped up boyfriend jeans.  Plus the fact that it’s navy makes it a more year-round piece than your black leather.

All in all, I’m loving this whole look just as much as the weather.  In fact, I’ve already donned it twice, and it may possibly make it’s third appearance on Easter Sunday. Tell me friends, what pieces are you most looking forward to sporting this spring?!  Truly, MKR
