A lace dress is a really just a no-brainer when it comes to dressing up.  Delicate details and feminine features make this fancy piece an instant iconic fashion staple.  And when you add a little color in there, especially my favorite color blue, you’re sure to make an entrance.  From the second that I saw this blue lace dress by Reese Witherspoon’s label, Draper James, I knew it had my name all over it.  Of course, this easy, ultra flattering A-line Draper James dress begs for a night out on the town with heels, but I didn’t want to wait for a special occasion to wear it.  So my solution, making lace every day accessible.

I accomplished the look by throwing on my new favorite navy moto leather jacket a fun pair of tomboy, striped oxfords I’ve had forever, and a white messenger bag.  The result proved to be just the right amount of fussy and un-fussy for every day life.  And like I said above I love that with a quick change of jacket and a slip into heels you’re ready for a night on the town.  So tell me friends, do you do lace?  Truly, MKR

P.S. Make sure you’re following Draper James on Instagram and Snapchat because I’ll be taking over their account this Saturday!

Looking Ahead with W By Worth

Elevated Staples to Transition You Effortlessly in Style

I know I’ve chatted a bit already about this transitional weird-weather time of year (one day it’s summer, the next it’s fall), but when getting dressed #thestruggleisreal!  However, before you go ordering all sorts of pieces that will have a short-lived stay in your closet, consider investing in a few key items that will carry you through not only this transitional time, but also the next few seasons…no matter what the forecast has in mind.

For those of you new to the blog, here’s where I let you in on a little secret about two of my favorite brands: Worth New York and its sister W by Worth.  I was introduced to both earlier this year (seen here, here and here), and have become a season regular.  Each of their collections showcase wardrobe staples that can be worn now AND later, truly transcending seasons (and trends for that matter) with top-notch quality.

For today I specifically decided on each W By Worth item because I could see myself wearing them now and well into winter.  I just adore this grey pleated skirt with its not too long, not too short lengths, paired with my beloved over-the-knee boots (similar here).  For the now the skirt would look great with pumps or sandals, and then with booties and tights in later months. Up top I chose their suiting collar sleeveless blouse and classic black cardigan.  Staying on theme, I’m able to wear the sleeveless top alone now, but plan to pair it with a suit coat or under a sweater once the temps drop.  And speaking of black cardigans, I’m a firm believer that everyone should own one.  This one is lightweight, comfortable and incredibly versatile.

So that’s it; with one simple outfit in one of my favorite color palettes (black and white) I’m ready for whatever this whacky weather has in store.  Tell me friends, are you finding this transitional time as trying as me? Truly, MKR

Fall Transition + A Zac Zac Posen HandBag Giveaway

I know, I know the last thing you want to hear about is fall.  I mean it’s been so hot here in the A.  I mean so hot. BUT I can’t help it, I’ve been hit with the hurry-up-and-get-here-fall-bug.  It all started very innocently last week when the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale kicked off.  It really is one of the best sales of the season and it had me filling my cart with all things fall before I could even remember that it was 95+ degrees out.  I mean yes it’s hot, but fall really is just around the corner so better get the getting while the gettings good right?!

My thoughts exactly that’s why I ended up scoring these killer frayed-edge jeans and burgundy block heels at $100 off.  I love how the jeans are cut to give just enough of a view of the sandals and the bordeaux suede just screams fall!  I also finally caved and bought the sunnies I’ve been dying to have, a fedora I’ve been coveting, and a pair of classic Rag & Bone booties!  Though word to the wise, there’s a chance some items in your cart won’t make it to you…I was so disappointed to have three items cancelled (this vest, these jeans, and this blouse) after I placed my order due to fulfillment.  And the worst part I got no notice!!  (Wah wah, #firstworldproblems).

But this post isn’t about the Nordstrom sale, it’s really about beginning to transition, and sneak in all of those coveted fall items you just can’t wait to wear!  Here I paired a few of my new favorites with a few of my old; like my favorite black silk blouse, olive green trench coat (similar here) and Zac Zac Posen nude handbag.  Zac bags of course aren’t new to us, they’re one of our absolute favorite bags, and because they’re one of our favorites we’ve decided to give one away to get everyone on our excited-for-fall-crazy-train.

So enter to win a Zac Zac Posen ‘Jumbo Eartha’ Calfskin Leather Double Handle Satchel in Dune (retail value $595) in the widget below, and tell me, are you as excited to transition into fall as I am?!  Good luck friends! Truly, MKR
