So I finally took the plunge. I bought myself a pair of over the knee boots by Stuart Weitzman. And goodness, I looove them.
I had my hesitations about the over the knee trend for numerous reasons; one of them being would I actually wear the boots? The pair I had my eyes on, after all, was pricey. And another concern: would they fit my legs? There’s nothing worse than a boot that feels like it’s suffocating your leg, especially your calf.
But I couldn’t get the boots off my mind; I was drawn to this pair in particular with the heel lending itself to be a bit dressier than my flat, casual over the knee boots already in my closet. Retail therapy worked again and I ordered the boots, but surprisingly went bold! I fell in love with this show-stopping color block combo and didn’t look back. They instantly proved to be extremely comfortable (they’re pull-on and hug my leg just right). I also like to think of them as a modern neutral…and it’s good to push your own fashion boundaries sometimes, am I right?
With these boots, any outfit seems like an afterthought, but I paired them with a burgundy leather skirt (on sale!), my go-to button up, my navy leather jacket and pair of grey tights. And a side note: DKNY has my favorite tights, hands down. The brand is the only brand I’ve found that nails the figure-perfecting control top.
I can’t forget to mention my new sunnies (I lost way, way too many pairs this summer) and the Gucci crossbody bag. I was just telling Kat the other day that it’s the best investment bag that goes with seriously everything. So happy that I took the plunge with these over the knee boots, and now I’m tempted to invest in a neutral pair! Tell me friends, what are your thoughts on the trend?! Truly, MKR
