Hydrangea cupcakes & other noteworthy links, @waitingonmartha

1 // The team was busy busy with photoshoots and the debut of the Whispering Angel Gummy Bears), so these 29 unexpected ways to relax were looking good by the end of the week.

2 // Is the “athleisure” bubble about to burst?  The Cut poses the question, and now has us wondering just how many yoga pants is one too many.

3 // We’re feeling ALL THE FEELS with this dreamy southern plantation up for sale. #swoon

4 // These hydrangea cupcakes are simply stunning, and they would be so perfect for a baby or bridal shower!

5 // I always knew MKR was crazy about fall, but I experienced it first-hand this week.  Let’s just say she opened a box from Williams-Sonoma containing everything and anything pumpkin spice.

6 // I’m currently considering how to add bronze accents (like with pretty little bowl) into my apartment thanks to a little inspiration for easy fall updates on Domino

7// MKR is a big fan of her panama hat, and I love my weathered baseball hat when I’m running around town.  If you’re not a “hat person”, you may change your mind after reading this

8// I recently talked about getting better with small talk, and I can’t wait to get my hands on this book after reading about it on Tory Burch’s blog

9 // It’s no surprise to us that fashion designer Ulla Johnson‘s home is utterly breathtaking.  Step inside her wonderful home tour on Lark & Linen to see for yourself.

10 // Team WOM has a lot of travel coming up in September, and we’ll be watching a few of the best 50 travel films to get us in the jet-setting spirit.  Spot a favorite on the list?

11 // MKR is big on her new smudge sticks.  Verdict’s still out on their effects.

FINAL-TheWeekinReview4

1 // There is a pizza vending machine. We repeat, there is a pizza vending machine

2 // It’s time to recognize the cost of people-pleasing, and it’s time to say goodbye to that toxic best friend.  Start with a nonjudgemental bestie instead, and then pull the rest of these people close.

3 // Back-to-school days are closer than you think (and it’s already happened for Georgia public schools!).  Shop our  20% Off Back-to-School Sale  on all desk accessories in the shop, this weekend only.  Use code STOCKUP at checkout.

4 // I’ve had a great time cooking with my spiralizer this summer! I’m excited to try this fresh, crunchy salad with tangled roots

5 // Seth Rogan channeling Drake at the end of this lip sync battle is kinda amazing.

6 // Explaining to your parents how you make money as a freelancer neverrrr gets easier.  Check out these other things only freelancers would know

7 // MKR has officially joined the Kayla Itsines BBG workout train.  With a medicine ball, jump rope and dumb bell weights officially ordered, she’s ready to see results from this super popular HIIT plan.

8 // Speaking of workouts, I’m terrible about keeping up with workouts when I’m traveling (and I’ll be on the road next week).  Here’s a full-body workout I could actually get myself to try. It seems like the perfect combination of all of my favorite classes on ClassPass.

9 // We’ve always said that this is the must-have decor item that every home should have, and this roundup made us even more convinced.

10 // You can totally visit all of the locations shot in Netflix’s Stranger Things in Georgia! #GeekingOut

11 // “Technology has made it easier than ever to connect and communicate with customers at scale. However, speed and efficiency are often mistaken for quality and authenticity. I believe that going forward, businesses must find a way to strike a delicate balance between this technology-enabled efficiency and old-school authenticity to stand out from the crowd.” No wiser words have been said.  The entire team was inspired this week by what first-time CEO and startup founder Chris Myers says about the lost art of the Maître d

12 // With fall around the corner (though I am in denial that August is already halfway through), I’m dreaming of a great camel suede skirt. Currently loving these high-low options here (50% off at least!) and here.  I’m just hoping I can look as effortlessly cool as Lucy Williams looks in hers.

13 // We’re all Team-USA over here, and we’re OBSESSED with the US Women’s Gymnastics team and of course, Michael Phelps.  And if you’ve heard Leslie Jones hilariously commentate on the Olympics, you’ll agree she deserves this trip to Rio!  So, so, so good.

FINAL-TheWeekinReview3

1 // MKR is taking a little staycation and she’s planning on hunkering down and reading her summer reading list (the pile that is stacked up on the nightstand). Here’s what she’ll be reading: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, The Singles Game and The Longevity Book by Cameron Diaz.  I’m sensing a reason to reignite the WOM Book Club, yes??

2 // We all agree, this is a dream collab right here.  Gray Malin S’well bottles!  Snag one HERE before they sell out.

3 // I’ve felt stretched a little too thin when it comes to mental balance and spiritual well-being lately.  Thanks to a rec by Geri Hersch, I ordered this book for a little guidance.  I’m also trying out Headspace for a little intro into meditation. Does anyone else use the app

4 // Sooo it’s time to call your friends and pack your bags. You’re going to die when you see these 12 insane airbrb rentals around the world (totally doable if you split the cost!).

5 // It’s safe to say that summer nights taste like peaches + burrata + balsamic homemade pizza

6 // But if you’re using freshly shaved parmesan on that pizza, you should check out this simple trick to clean your cheese grater (hint: you need this).

7 // Apparently, where you sit (and who you sit by) in the office matters. And here’s how to boost your productivity.

8 // MKR learned the importance of staking/marking what she’s planting in the garden.  She realized this week that what she thought was growing in the backyard was green peppers turned out to be tomatillos! I told her she should order some of these or these STAT. I guess she’ll be making a lot of salsa!

9 // Dreaming of cracking into the interior design industry?  This inspiring feature shares how 21 artists, buyers, designers and editors made it big.

10 // MKR reignited her passion for politics and getting involved.  Her recent political kick got us all to realize that everyone should take the 10 seconds it takes to register and vote in this upcoming election.  Not just to vote for the next president, but also to become informed on the state of affairs.  By voting for all of your elected officials from judges, senators, governors, mayors, etc., you’ll help lead change where it happens. (And if you DON’T vote, then you DON’T get to complain about the state of affairs of anything!) Here’s the link to register today.

11 // We’ve all seen firsthand how happiness + what we eat go hand in hand.  But the team found it so interesting when a Well+Good editor “Marie Kondo’d” her diet and mindfully ate and savored every meal, and recording her joy for two weeks.  It reminded us of the importance of setting the table for weeknight meals

12 // Sarah Sherman Samuel reminds us how chic (and cool) running around in an easy summer dress can be.

13 // We suffer from it bad sometimes.  Apparently, here’s how to beat the #SundayScaries once and for all.

14 // Rifle Paper Co. debuts its new fabric collection…and it’s as gorgeous as we all knew it would be.

15 // The team is stocking up on lululemon leggings this week, due to the scary news of a possible price increase soon.  Perhaps it’s time to shift our loyalties to this brand instead??
