I’ve always been a fan of a great at-home bar. I strongly believe it’s a must-learn life skill to mix up classic cocktails, and as an avid host, it’s important to provide an array...
Looking back on Easter as a child, I remember how excited I was to dig through my Easter basket. Full of chocolate bunnies, malt ball Easter eggs, Peeps, golden coins, and my favorite Cadbury...
Lets be honest, salads can be boring. So I’m always trying to think outside of the box to come up with salad recipes that I’ll thoroughly enjoy, but are beyond easy to make. Enter...

The secrets to a great Thanksgiving dinner? Well it may not be as simple as a 1, 2 and 3, but I like to think you’ll be in a great spot if you: plan for a great menu (with cocktails flowing), set up some festive decor and set aside time, above all, to give thanks.
We recently shared our clickable Field Guide to the Thanksgiving Season, a great place to start as you’re planning your own gathering for Turkey Day. One of the biggest takeaways I gained from working on the guide: set the table the day before! And of course, a proper feast is a must. Click through the slideshow above to read more tips for the best Thanksgiving dinner. Cheers, Kat

SET THE TABLE THE DAY BEFORE
IF I LEARNED ANYTHING FROM OUR FAVORITE TASTEMAKERS IN OUR THANKSGIVING FIELD GUIDE, IT'S THAT SETTING THE TABLE THE DAY BEFORE IS KEY TO A LESS STRESSFUL THANKSGIVING DAY.
TASTY SIPS ARE ALWAYS A GREAT TOUCH, SO CONSIDER MIXING UP A SEASONAL SIGNATURE COCKTAIL FOR THE EVENING. (IT HELPS CONVERSATION AROUND THE TABLE, TOO!)
FIND ALL THE RECIPES (AND TIPS AND ESSENTIALS TO GET THE JOB DONE) THAT YOU'LL NEED FOR THE PROPER THANKSGIVING FEAST IN OUR FIELD GUIDE...WE'RE TALKING THE MOST DELICIOUS SMOKED TURKEY, TASTY SIDES AND DECADENT HOMEMADE PUMPKIN PIE. #YUM
NO REASON TO BRING OUT THE SEQUINS; INSTEAD KEEP YOUR LOOK COMFORTABLE YET CHIC WITH A NICE OVERSIZED SWEATER AND TAILORED PANTS. A BRAIDED DUTCH CROWN IS THE PERFECT HAIRSTYLE FOR THE OCCASION.
GATHER WITH YOUR LOVED ONES AND GIVE THANKS FOR ALL OF THE MANY BLESSINGS FROM THE PAST YEAR. START NEW TRADITIONS BY GOING AROUND THE TABLE AND SHARING WHAT EACH PERSON IS THANKFUL FOR.
We’ve gushed over gorgeous bathrooms before, and talked about how to get that “designer” look at home. But as house guests start arriving this holiday season, you won’t be worrying about the brass hardware and the wallpaper. Instead, you’ll be thinking of practical ways to prepare the space for your house guests.
Start with a little elbow grease, mix in some plush towels and of course finish with some fresh blooms. These gracious, thoughtful details always go a long way, especially during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. Click the slideshow above to read the five quick ways to spruce up your bathroom for house guests. Cheers, Kat

PUT IN SOME ELBOW GREASE
I CAN HEAR MY MOTHER SAYING IT NOW: "YOU NEED TO PUT IN SOME ELBOW GREASE!"
THERE'S REALLY NO WAY AROUND THIS ONE; A GUEST-READY BATHROOM IS REALLY ONLY GUEST-READY AFTER SOME GOOD OLD CLEANING.
HAVING THE NECESSITIES AND EVEN SOME BEAUTY PRODUCTS ON HAND IS A VERY THOUGHTFUL DETAIL IN CASE YOUR GUESTS LEFT ANYTHING AT HOME. THE MOST IMPORTANT? ADVIL AND TOOTHPASTE.
As you know, we take our tablescapes pretty seriously here at WOM, but like everyone, we can also get stuck in a rut styling said tables. Sure, we all play favorite with different types of dinnerware, flatware and the such over the years, but it can all start to becoming a bit boring and maybe even too expected holiday after holiday. So in order to spice things up, I’ve recently turned to napkins to bring a little flavor to the mix. A little fold here, a little fold there, and your place setting now has that elevated feel you’d find at your favorite restaurant.
Since a nicely-folded napkin can set even the simplest of tables apart when entertaining, especially for a special occasion, I knew I wanted to tackle an easy napkin tutorial with our friends at World Market just in time for the holidays. As you saw here on the blog last month, I find myself turning to World Market time and time again for all of those unique, yet totally affordable, details when I’m entertaining. This way I’m more inclined to mix and match to keep the table fresh and fun.
Mastering a few new ways to fold a napkin isn’t as hard as you’d think. In the gallery below you’ll find super easy step-by-step instructions for five different napkin folds that you can print out and file away for all your holiday entertaining needs. (Don’t worry I still need a cheat sheet sometimes too!) Truly, MKR
