The Beauty Of A Girl Gang

There’s nothing like good coffee (or wine I don’t discriminate) and great girl talk.  Recently I found myself spending some time at Buckhead’s newest coffee shop, Corso Coffee, and in a two hour long conversation with a good friend and creative cohort of mine.  We chatted about work, husbands, family, travel, work, and even more work.  I stress the work part because as a creative entrepreneur I think there are few things as important as having someone, or even better yet a core group of someones, who understand you and what you’re working towards on a daily basis.  In fact last time I was in NYC my boss lady friend Roxy told me they have an entire group of women entrepreneurs who gather once a month to drink wine, chat and simply support each other, (which by the way Roxy I’m stealing your idea and forming my own creative girl gang).  The life of an entrepreneur is not an easy one and having people who understand it all is an absolute must.  And I’d even be so bold to say that it will play a very big part in if you succeed or fail.  So tell me do you have a go-to person or persons you can always confide in?  Truly, MKR

  • I love the idea of a girl gang. I have a few fellow girls, but not a whole gang! PS, isn’t Coros your new favorite spot?? SO GOOD!

You’re in my girl gang MKR! <3

  • Yes…girl gangs are a must. I live in a historic neighborhood in the south and there are a passle of us who meet once a month to eat, drink and share our lives. It’s gone beyond the love of historic homes to sharing each others deepest thoughts, dreams & schemes. There are several of us who meet weekely for lunch to share our latest problems with children, husbands, jobs, etc…I couldn’t live without them!

  • Yes, yes, yes love this all! xoxo

  • A girl gang is an absolute must for me to maintain my sanity. I have a few different gangs, and I love them all equally for the same reason: each one is absolutely fulfilling and is all about making each other better. Whether that’s a better reader (book club), a better blogger (mastermind group), or a better friend in general, it’s all about challenging each other to be the best we can be.

  • I would defiantly consider my best-friend my go-to-girl! She recently launched her business this year, as a wedding planner in the DC area.
We try and grab coffee every 2-4 weeks, and while we talk boys and shopping, we also touch-base in regards to where we are in our businesses. Its amazing looking back and seeing how far we both have come in our development the past couple of years!

I rarely comment on any blog posts, but I could not, not do it. YES! beyond important, and it truly has gotten me to where I am today—and finding the GOOD people you can trust 🙂

  • I couldn’t agree more, having a life line is SO very important! xo

  • Love this, and love all your different “gangs” it really is beyond important! xo

  • Love this, and isn’t it crazy to go on similar journeys with someone else, it makes it even better! xo
