As promised when you saw a sneak peek on Instagram last week, I’m sharing the recipe for a delicious and easy batch cocktail to enjoy on New Year’s Eve: my Pear, Apple & Cranberry Sparkling Sangria.

Whether you’re sipping long before the ball drops, and/or well into the new year, this white sangria recipe hits just the spot.  It’s light, bubbly and refreshing, while having that lovely, wintry warmth thanks to whole cinnamon sticks and fresh rosemary sprigs from the herb garden.  My recipe calls for Pinot Grigio (here I’ve used one of my faves, Santa Margherita), which I’ve found marries the sweetness of the apple and pear and the tartness of the fresh cranberries and lemon to perfection.

And in terms of serving this gorgeous drink,  it’s safe to say that you can’t go wrong. The deep, ruby reds of the cranberries speak for themselves, but when the pristine slices of crisp apple and pear are added, the drink is truly tantalizing.  Thanks to my time with the Epting brothers in Athens this summer, I now have an appreciation for a great crystal collection—the definition of heirloom pieces—and I recently started my own collection that can be passed down from generation to generation.  This year’s batch of sangria looks truly stunning in my Waterford crystal punch bowl (which will also find its home on my bar cart as an ice bucket), allowing guests to serve themselves (with the most adorable holiday tongs) and see all of the gorgeous, sparkling contents afloat.  So tell me, Loves, how will you be toasting to the new year?  Truly, MKR

Stop! Apple Thyme Cocktail

A Belly-Warming Drink from Project Sip that Tastes like Quintessential Fall

Any time our dear friends at Project Sip mix up something new, we know we’re going to love it (remember their Old Fashioned?!).  Well our favorite mixologists have done it again with today’s quintessential cold-weather cocktail that warms your belly with each sip.

The inspiration for this tasty libation? Jenn and Kathryn explain it as “dreaming of cozy fall nights by a fire. We’ve paired the crispness of apples with a smooth whisky bourbon to capture the elements of fall in a drink.”

Stop! Apple Thyme is not playing around; a double shot of whiskey, double shot of apple brandy, a shot of thyme simple syrup and a splash of lemon juice make for the perfect mouth-watering blend.  So grab your cozy plaid throw and meet us by the fire, drink in-hand!  Cheers, Kat

Rummy Spiced Cider

Cozy Up this Fall with Chest-Warming Sips of Our Favorite Spiked Apple Cider

My favorite way to cozy up amidst crisp, dropping temps?  Sipping on a little spiced apple cider in my pajamas!  But whether it’s in my pajamas, around our fire pit out back, or at the next dinner party, our Rummy Spiced Cider is a solid way to toast to sweater weather.

I squealed with delight at the new Williams-Sonoma at Ponce when I came across these cinnamon maple spoons…I mean so perfect for spiced apple cider, right?  And with these stemless pumpkin glasses?  Just a big ole taste of fall that I can’t get enough of.

As you may remember, we welcomed my favorite season with our friends at Pottery Barn by taking over their Instagram with a peek at how I welcome Fall.  This year, we’re celebrating the season with a libation (or four) with PB and Diageo, purveyors of some of our favorite booze brands. First up: our Rummy Spiced Cider.

Imagine the vibrant citrus and warm spices all atop the sweet apple, giving the drink its subtle spice and much-needed depth. The cinnamon maple spoons not only compliment the recipe, they offer a fun and festive garnish to the cocktail.  And while I prefer my cider warm, our Rummy Spiced Cider can be served hot or cold…so when you find yourself in the South during our Indian Summer, pour this libation over a little ice and enjoy!  Truly, MKR

P.S. Stay tuned for more October cocktail goodness…gin punch, spiked hot chocolate and a nod to our favorite wizard with a little Boozy Butter Beer! xo
