One thing you’ll always see in my house is fresh flowers.  Always.  They make a room, and often me, feel truly alive.  So when one of my favorite digital mags reached out and asked if I’d create a floral DIY centerpiece for their summer issue I was thrilled.  I was even more thrilled when they told me I had complete creative freedom with the project.  Was being the operative word.

I’ve found that sometimes no rules actually hurts my creative juices rather than helps them.  Too many ideas, too many directions I could go in.  My mind just swirls with the possibilities of it all.  So how do I stop the spiral…Pinterest of course.  Well Pinterest and spending some time at my favorite floral shop, Cut.  I think I’ve finally got an idea in my head, or at least a direction I’m headed.  We’ll see.  The shoot’s next week and I’m teaming up with my favorite photogs Rustic White, so at least I can rest assured the pics will be gorgeous.   Wish me luck, and I can’t wait to share the final result with you all.  Happy Thursday! xo

…am dying to make these gorgeous cupcakes from Adventures in Cooking.  I mean lemon poppy seed cupcakes with lemon curd and blueberry cream cheese frosting?! Does it get more delish than that?

…filled out my brackets.  March Madness is one of my favorite times of the year…go Blue!

…decided I should probably add these perfect, and well priced, sandals to my wardrobe.

…continued on my #projectorganization journey by starting to tackle my office and the boutiques storage room (aka the garage).  I’ve got a LONG way to go, but these R+H binders are at least helping me stay organized in the office.

…fell in love with all of Bauble Bar’s new personalized pieces.  Especially THISTHIS, and I’m really dying to stack THESE.

…started planning a little overnight trip to Rome, Georgia so I can get my fancy on at the Maiedae Mixer!  It’s being hosted by these lovely ladies, and if you’re a blogger in the Atlanta area you should really look into attending as well.  Hope to see you there!

Happy weekend Loves! xo

Art Ideas

In decorating my first home I’ve learned a lot of things, the biggest being that I’m just beginning to scratch the surface on what my design aesthetic is.  A big part of that journey has been choosing what to hang on my walls.  And quite frankly, adding art to your home can be a tad daunting.  Mainly because I don’t think there’s no greater of  a personal statement about who a person is creatively than what they choose to hang on their walls.  And honestly people are VERY opinionated when it comes to art.

Here’s my two cents…don’t worry about what you know or don’t know about art, just buy what you love, what makes you feel.  Your home should be filled with what you actually love, not what you’re “supposed” to love (this mantra holds true for just about anything…what you choose to wear, who you choose to marry, etc).  So with that being said, check out my art ideas above; and what are you loving lately?  xoxo
