New Year, New Beauty Routine

As amazing and exciting as WOM always seems to be the truth is it’s really taken a toll on my mind and body.  I swear I’ve aged a decade over the last year.  So one of my resolutions for 2014 is to take better care of myself both inside and out.  Inside by taking more “Mandy” time to un-plug and de-stress.  Outside, by amping up my beauty routine and understanding that mother nature is going to be less gracious each coming year and I need to fight the good fight with every tool I have in my arsenal.

The trick is my skin is…well tricky.  It’s oily, it’s dry, it’s super sensitive, and it’s been the bane of my existence my entire life honestly.  But I feel like I’m finally getting a handle on it.  So here’s the skinny…I’m alternating the Mario Badescu anti acne serum with the Amore Pacific moisturizing mask each night and spraying the Mario Badescu rose water spray on each morning.  And shockingly my skin is brighter, and looking all around healthier without breaking out.

For my eyes, that struggle has just begun as it appears my eyes (or rather the bags under them) are where I’m going to age first.  At night I’m using HollyBeth Organics eye cream which is ah-mah-zing.  And for the day the Saint Laurent touche eclat is a game changer.  Everyone rush out and buy this product.  I promise you won’t regret it.

Lastly I’ve recently begun using the Clarisonic Opal which I’ve been assured by numerous people that it will take back that decade I feel I’ve lost this past year.  And when all else fails a little Lollia bubble bath and HollyBeth Organics body oil soak in the tub with a big glass of red wine seems to do the trick.  So Loves, please share if you have any beauty secrets I need to know about?  truly, MKR

With bridal season about to be in full swing I’ve paired up with kate spade new york and some amazing Creatives to bring you an entire week of celebrating the bride to be.  I’m talking tablescapes, desserts, invites, florals, gifting, outfits, beauty how-tos, etiquette tips, and yes cake.  There will be lots of cake.  Ooooooh and cotton candy.  Lots of cotton candy.  But today let’s start where all great stories start, at the beginning.

When I think of kate spade new york I think fun.  Girly.  Colorful.  And of course, their black and white stripes.  Which worked out perfectly since black, white, and stripes just happen to be some of my favorite things.  But I couldn’t just leave it at all black and white…well I could, but I didn’t, I mean this is bridal.  So I added in pops of gold, silver and a full palette of pinks sprinkled throughout.

The invitation, in true kate spade form, set the tone with a shocking pink envelope lined in gold “xo” polka dots and a bow tie RSVP card complete with a striped grosgrain ribbon.  A floating floral centerpiece hung over the boldly set black and white striped table with kate spade’s Castle Peak place settings and Dot champagne glasses.  And cookies donning the brides soon to be new initial and a kate spade logo were the perfect finishing touch.

So with the table set, and the champagne poured we were officially ready to celebrate.  And celebrate, we did!  I can’t wait to share more details with you tomorrow, but until then I hope you’re feeling inspired whether you’re the bride to be, the host, or just someone who loves to entertain.  Happy Monday Loves!  truly, MKR

What To Wear With Kate Spade New York

When it comes to what to wear I like to think outside the bridal palette box.  For me that meant a little LBD with a nod to mod, a stack of wrist candy, and a clutch that felt like it was designed with this celebration in mind.  And by now you’ve got to know just how much I love a pink lip and Ms. Mejerle gave me the pinkest of  pouts.  Which, by the way, she’ll be talking all about tomorrow.  Anyway, bottom line is this…ladies it’s your party and you should wear what you want to.

P.S.  On an un-related, but completely relatade side note big huge congrats, cheers and “ohs and ahs” to my partners in crime Rustic White and the launch of their new website.  I mean could it be any more gorgeous!?  So much love, inspiration and talent in every photograph.  Love you guys!
