{MUST Eat} Alon's Bakery & Market

I think we’ve had this discussion before so excuse the repetitiveness, but the BEST thing about moving to a new city is discovering all of the new food!  And last week my journey continued when I had the pleasure of attending a tasting at Alon’s Bakery and Market in Dunwoody.

Alon’s has been an Atlanta staple for 20 years delighting customers with a plethora of sweet treats, baked goods, wine, foodie gifts and so much more.  But Alon just installed a wood burning pizza oven that cranks out 11 different pies from scratch.  So what better way to break it in than to throw a little party.

The pies were nothing short of fantastic.  With classics like Margherita combining crushed tomato, fresh mozzarella, basil, and basil infused olive oil to the unexpected like anchovies with fried capers.  There’s literally a pie to please every discerning (or not so discerning) taste bud.  Shockingly my two favorites couldn’t have been more opposite; the habenero olive oil with Italian tuna and the Taleggio with fig balsamic, truffled honey and marcona almonds.  The Taleggio would be perfection paired with some good wine.

So yes, Alon’s will be making it on to my Atlanta MUST Eat list, and Alon can plan on seeing a lot of me in the near future.  A lot.  On a side note, sorry to all of you loves that don’t live in Atlanta, but as a takeaway we can all appreciate to always try new things.  Had I not, I wouldn’t have found my 2 fav new pizzas!  xoxo

…announced that I’m officially embracing Fall.  I shared THIS video of my harvest dinner, added new very fall like arrivals to the Shop (as pictured above), and am so thrilled to begin sharing all of my fall MUSTS on the blog.  Yay PSL’s, yay football season, yay to boots and sweaters, yay fall.  Do you think I like this season at all?

…decided I need to begin making galette’s thanks to Lark & Linen.

…added THIS to my fall wish list.

…couldn’t handle Karen Walker’s new ad campaign brought to my attention thanks to Honestly WTF.

…started wrapping up one of my favorite campaigns, Deer Park’s Feel Good Moments.  I’d love to hear how you take a break and exhale by sharing your feel good moments HERE.

…plotted our next vacation and THIS is making me think I need to go somewhere far, far away.

…one of my gal pal’s, Kate Mansi (Abigail from Days of our Lives) has teamed up with Charity Water to help bring clean drinking water to kids all over the world.  I donated, and hope you will too.  Whatever amount you can give I know she’d love ya for it!  #givingisthenewblack

…had a major case of envy.  Envy is not an emotion I entertain too often.  Quite frankly it’s pointless, and feeling and entertaining envy will get you no closer to what you’re actually being envious of (hint hard work usually will).  But this week envy got the best of me.  You see it’s New York Fashion Week.  And I can’t scroll through Instagram or log on to Twitter without seeing a million NYFW images.  Sigh.  I was supposed to be at NYFW.  But because of numerous things the stars just didn’t align and I couldn’t go.  And I was sad, and angry, and envious, and stomping through the week, and basically I was being a brat.  And then I remembered one of my biggest beliefs…wherever I am is exactly where I am supposed to be.  And that simple thought brought me back down to reality, gave me grace, and helped me count my blessings (and start plotting my trip to NYFW in February).  So I’d like to revise my statement from above; envy got the best of me…almost.  Happy Sunday Loves.  truly, MKR

New arrivals…Ross Sveback faux bois plates, One Good Deed pennant, Gorjana Griffin rings, “Do Your Best” key chain, Jonathan Adler rose gold champagne candle, “No Limits But The Sky” decoupage trinket tray, Dog needlepoint hat, Magnifying glass paperweight, Lollia Wander bubble bath, Lollia Wander bath oil, Ross Sveback faux boise teacup and saucer, “Hold Fast” pennant, Vintage flat trinket tray, Best Friends charm..matching dog collar and owner’s bracelet
