You know you’re going to have a great meal when the place you’re dining at has Proseco on tap. I mean have you ever heard of anything more genius than bubbles on tap? Even if the meal had been sub par, Lure would have already stolen my heart. Lucky for me, the meal was just as perfect as the bubbles.
Situated in Midtown, Lure is the most recent of a few contemporary fish houses to hit Atlanta. Like all of the Fifth Group Restaurants I’ve been to so far (Ecco and Alma Cocina) the atmosphere is welcoming and current, neither small nor large, but rather cozy. The outside seating is perfection, or at least will be once it cools down a tad and you actually will want to dine outside. And this evening at Lure was extra special because I finally got to meet Michael Erickson and put a face to the tweets.
The highlight of the evening for the Mr. was the oysters and the grilled octopus and pork lettuce wraps with spicy Vietnamese sauce. For me its a three way tie between the oysters, the melt in your mouth pan fried sole filets with capers, brown butter, and sautéed spinach and the ridiculous funnel cake dessert.
The majority of our 2 hour dining experience at Lure is documented below with my two cents thrown in, but know this, Lure is a MUST Eat! Happy weekend! xoxo
We started the evening with Proseco on tap and and Shochu, a drink that is described as a mix between a martini and a glass of white wine
Oysters…so delish
The pork and octopus wraps the Mr. couldn’t stop raving about…I quote “this is one of the best things I’ve ate in I don’t remember when.”
The shrimp scampi threw me for a bit of a loop, not your typical scampi flavorings, but amazing.
Lure bottles a lot of their own cocktails and this was my favorite, the micha caliente lemo. It starts out refreshing and then has some major kick that lingers, love, love love this drink!
Outside Lure, the infamous anchor. Legend has it if you rub it you’ll have good luck. I’m not sure about luck, but we had a fabulous meal.
The rum raisin sundae with crunchies. So good!
The funnel cake! Perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I would go just for this!
Table souvenirs, bottle openers!
I’ve been dying to go there! It looks so good!
