I’m sure you’ve heard the news; Pantone has officially announced its 2016 color(s) of the year and the marriage between the two colors shows us quite a lovely and softer take on the usual annual selection. 

Serenity, known to be a “cooler tranquil blue,” goes beyond just a run-of-the-mill pastel.  Its incredibly versatile hue lends itself to a whole slew of possibilities in both the design and fashion worlds; we can already envision the sweeping interiors and stunning street style shots. Rose Quartz takes a “warmer embracing rose tone” that is sophisticated yet subtle.  This shade lends itself to gentle femininity, and combined with Serenity marks a soothing connection. Almost as if you’re being enveloped by a warm breeze (or so we’d imagine). 

According to Pantone: “Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Serenity is weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times.”

When we refer to The Most Wonderful Time of Year here at WOM, I hope you realize we mean the entire month of December! I’ve always loved Christmas, but working under MKR this time of year is pretty contagious and has me loving the season even more.  

Needless to say, we’re feeling all sorts of festive over here with each and every stunning holiday wreath and snowy Christmas scene we come across.  With the Shop in full-swing holiday mode (I’ve already checked a few off my Christmas list!, a good playlist with all of the classics, and tons of pinspiration over on Holiday Hub with one of our favorites, Mrs. Lilien, we’re humming our ways through the holiday season.

I’ve been lusting after a good set of dainty, stackable diamond rings and delicate earrings for years now…years, just ask the Mr.   I mean is there anything better than diamonds?  Just that little added sparkle they bring to an every day uniform or how they especially jazz up an outfit this time of year.  Diamonds truly are a girl’s best friend. 

And recently it’s like fate intervened saying it was time to pull that trigger when our friends at Charm & Chain reached out to tell us about their newest venture, Mined.   Mined is a collection of gorgeous pave gems that are subtly show-stopping and also ethically-sourced (something that took me only minutes watching Leo in Blood Diamond to learn that this was a must for any future diamond purchases!).  And even though diamonds are usually a splurge, they don’t always have to break the bank.  Case in point these earrings or this delicate bracelet perfect for any arm party.  And for a night out on the town, these earrings are worth every single penny.

So however you stack them or whatever color you choose (I’m going black diamonds with rose gold) I think it’s easy to see why these pave diamond rings were an easy front-runner on my Christmas list for the hubs this year, and a gift that I’ll enjoy forever.  Truly, MKR
