With The Masters behind us and warmer weather officially here to stay, I have to admit my boyfriend and I have golf + vacation on both of our minds.  Well, he’s thinking about golf and I’m thinking about lounging in the sun with a little R&R in the spa.  I was introduced to Kiawah Island this time last year when MKR shared this travel post, and can’t stop thinking about how nice a little weekend getaway to South Carolina’s coast would be!

As MKR shared in her original post last year, Kiawah is a private island community and home to a mix of year round residents, luxurious second homes, the quaintest downtown, a top ten golf course, and a five-star resort called The Sanctuary.  Settled among winding moss filled streets, The Sanctuary envelopes you in Southern hospitality from the moment you walk through the front doors.  And can we talk about those classic Adirondack chairs that line the pristine lawn? That’s where I’d want to stay the majority of the time, curled up with a good book. I know a Kiawah Island visit is next up on my travel list, what about you?  Cheers, Kat

5 Reasons We Love Puppies

Today is National Puppy Day, But We Celebrate Our Pups 365 Days of the Year
Filed Under > Uncategorized

First off, we never need an excuse to celebrate puppies here at WOM. On any given week, we’re sending and tagging each other in a dozen puppy photos, and we’re constant supporters of all #dogsofinstagram. BUT with it being National Puppy Day and all, I was happy to oblige with a roundup of a few reasons why I have constant puppy fever.

As you’ll see in the slideshow above, it’s more than just cuddles and morning kisses (but those clearly take the cake). One of the best things about National Puppy Day is the focus on adopting your new best friend, rather than buying from a puppy mill.  When you take the time to read the reasons to adopt, it’s really a no-brainer. Tell me, how are you celebrating your pup today?  And have you adopted a puppy recently? Would love to hear your experience in the comments below.  Cheers, Kat

P.S. My favorite forever-puppy also just so happens to have a birthday today!  It’s a borderline problem how much I love this cavvy…I didn’t even know I was #teamcav until I met Addison Rye three years ago.  Let’s just say that I’m getting a CKCS soon so that lots of puppy dates WILL happen. xo

Laundry room organization tips

In the dream world, we’d all have huge laundry rooms filled with endless cabinets and impeccable organization systems in place.  But the truth is, many of us have tiny spaces for some of the most important household chores.  Last year, MKR teamed up with Pottery Barn to tackle laundry room organization, eliminating clutter and maximizing her space as much as possible. As she showed us, laundry room organization wasn’t so hard.

First, she traded in her old hampers for a conveniently divided woven hamper.  It amazed MKR how much the presorting helped keep the room organized, load after load of darks and lights.

Second, she relied on both wire baskets and woven baskets (both currently marked down!) to hold her Costco-sized household products and all of her other cleaning necessities.

Head on over to the original post to read more easy laundry room organization tricks. As you’ll learn, it’s really as simple as adding a few key pieces to keep the space tidy, functional and clutter-free.  Cheers, Kat
