Tales Of The Wild

I admit it, I’m a sucker for pretty packaging often buying something based on the box it comes in rather than the product itself. So when I discovered Tales of the Wild, (thanks to Rustic White) a natural, organic botanical company located near the edge of the sea on Vancouver Island, B.C. I was immediately smitten.

From perfumes and mists to aromatic teas and natural curiosities for your home Amy and Richard McDowell, the couple behind Tales of the Wild, create each product one at a time by hand in their atelier. Their Philosophy, “We love the pure beauty and myriad qualities of fine essential oils – they have the ability to heal, to uplift, to inspire, and to evoke rich memories and deep emotions instantly. The images they conjure and stories that they tell captivate and move us to continue creating gorgeous, evocative fragrances. To us, each becomes a tale of the wild – an authentic experience of the natural world that rests in the wild heart of every scent.”

Personally I can’t stop using their Rose Body Mist and wearing the Sand & Sea Perfume (which side note is perfect for travel).  And while I could just let the pictures speak for themselves I thought it’d be more fun to team up with Tales of the Wild and giveaway an Aromatic Journey Kit of the winners choosing.  All the details and how to enter are below so good luck Loves and I’m hoping you all (winner or not) take a moment and get lost in the beauty that is Tales of the Wild. Truly, MKR

A Signature Style

Leaving corporate America behind for full time creative entrepreneurship has meant complete freedom when it comes to my daily wardrobe.  So this year it’s been a goal of mine to hone in and define my signature style.  Throwing out what I had to wear for years and what I may like, but isn’t necessarily “me” and staying true to what I feel most comfortable in.  For now that tends to be a more tomboy-esq look, a lot of navys and blacks, slightly ripped denim, long layers, plenty of hats, and a bright pink lip.  And I’m sure like most things in life my signature style will just keep evolving but I must say, there’s something very freeing in letting go of past pieces (no matter how much they cost) that don’t represent who I am, where I’m going, and what I thought I needed to be.  I’d love to know, do you consider yourself to have a signature style?  truly, MKR

The Haunting Holiday

The Haunting Season, Waiting On MarthaHalloween

Okay I admit it, I’m not a huge fan of Halloween.  I’m a fan just not a huge fan.  I like the candy, the kids costumes (I don’t do costumes) and the haunting side of it all, but if I’m being honest it runs a little too close to my favorite holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas) to get my full attention.  However, I do like that Halloween kicks of the holiday season, it does fall during my absolute favorite season fall, and I’ve been known to love a skull motif, so this year I’m trying to get a little more in the spirit.  Happy Haunting Loves!  Truly, MKR

P.S.  See this shoot in its entirety complete with Halloween recipes right HERE and we’re offering 20% off ALL Halloween for the next 48 hours in The Shop code HAUNTED at checkout.
