This time last year, MKR sought to tackle a few important organization projects, including her master bathroom.  As one of the spaces she spends the most time in, it tended to become a “cluttered hot-mess,” so MKR knew she wanted to simplify and focus on bathroom organization in the new year.

Here at WOM, we relish the nights when we can commit to a little R&R, so turning a bathroom into our own little sanctuary is so important to us. MKR did just that with hers; creating a space that was just as beautiful as it was functional.

Her tricks to better bathroom organization?  She wheeled in a storage cart to keep everything within arm’s reach during a good soak, she turned everyday glass vessels into catchalls for beauty products, soaking salts and sponges, and she relied on a chic, portable hamper for laundry.

Head over to the original post for more bathroom organization ideas!  How are you tackling this oh-so-essential space in the new year?  Cheers, Kat

Organizing your linen closet in 2016 via Waiting on Martha

As we shared on Thursday, this laundry room organization post was one of our most popular in 2015!  It only made sense to archive this oldie but goodie as we all switch gears into organization mode for the coming year.  With these few simple organization hacks, you’ll be well on your way to a more organized linen closet in 2016 (and I’ll cheers to that).

As MKR shared, the linen closet is one of her home’s biggest downfalls.  Located inside the guest bathroom, there’s really no hiding the chaos.  So her solution?  Baskets!  With a combination of both woven AND wire baskets, she created a space that’s just as appealing on the eye as it is functional.  The wire baskets work great for items more frequently used, like bath and beach towels.  The larger woven baskets work best for bedding, while the smaller woven baskets corral cleaning supplies, bathroom necessities and everything you need to cure a cough or bandage a wound.

Lastly, hand-written labels (by our talented girl, Jenn Gietzen) provide that extra dose of OCD-pretty.   Consider adding a few that even say “help yourself” so guests feel welcome to grab a towel or toothbrush.  Voila!  Easy linen closet organization complete.  How are you tidying up your space this year?  Cheers, Kat

This year the hubs and I are foregoing individual gifts, and instead opting to gift each other with presents that are maybe a little less glamorous and more practical…as well as long overdue.  The first on that list?  A new mattress for the master bedroom.

I’ve been researching mattresses for over a year now, and I’m sure you hear me when I say that buying the perfect mattress quickly becomes daunting if not wearisome, especially how picky we are when it comes to comfort.  I mean you have your mattress for seven+ years; this is a big decision not to mention an investment.  So after months of back and forth deliberation we actually chose to forgo another pillow top and instead purchase a memory foam.  That’s when we were introduced to Leesa.   And with a few easy clicks our new King memory foam mattress from Leesa was en route and I must say I slept better that night knowing Leesa offers a 100 day risk free trial because anything new takes some time to get used to.

Within a few days the door bell rang and our Leesa had arrived.  I actually had to do a double take as I was so surprised how they could get a king mattress into such a small box, but I wasn’t going to question this magic since the convenience of having a king mattress bought and delivered to my doorstep was nothing short of extraordinary.  The Leesa mattress truly looks just as good as it feels…you could even get away without putting sheets on the beauty (especially since the Leesa grey compliments my grey walls perfectly).  It’s soft to the touch, and the memory foam proves to be the perfect level of cushion and support for both the hubs and myself, even though I prefer a softer nights sleep than him.

Fast forward 30 days and I’m happy to report that my nights have never been so restful (team memory foam all the way).  And as if you needed another reason to make the switch for every ten mattresses sold Leesa donates a mattress to a homeless shelter.  Here’s to doing good and sleeping well!  Truly, MKR
