We’ve read how MKR raves about using baskets as a chic storage solution in the laundry room and the linen closet. Since then, decorating with baskets has become one of my favorite ways to stay organized around the house, too. I’ve turned to decorating with baskets as a way to corral necessities and hide clutter in a breeze. I’ve also come to appreciate how baskets instantly add warmth, texture and interest to any room.
The possibilities for decorating with baskets are truly endless; I like to stow magazines in a shallow sisal basket next to my desk, I keep rolled-up towels in a classic rattan basket next to my tub, I corral cleaning supplies in a basket on the dryer, and I tote laundry across the house in this handwoven seagrass basket (brand new to the Shop!). Click through the slideshow above to get more inspiration on decorating with baskets at home, too! Cheers, Kat

FOR LAUNDRY
With handles and a top to this basket, you can easily tote laundry to and from, in style.
Last week, we touched upon the easiest way to turn your bedroom into an inviting retreat. But today we’re taking it a few steps further by sharing seven of the best bedside essentials. MKR shared her top nightstand essentials this past summer, and with cozy snow days and dark mornings, I think we can all agree they’re worth pulling out from the archives. So without further adieu…
1. A great statement lamp like this one from Times Two Design can tie together the room in one sweep, and of course it offers ample light as you tackle your reading list.
3. Fresh blooms well, this is a no-brainer. But seriously though, fresh flowers are worth every penny if they make you happy. It’s the little things in life! Just remember to change out the water daily to extend their life bedside.
4. A soothing candle that smells as pretty as it looks. This one will never not be a favorite.
5. Notebooks for when creativity strikes. We love a small, journal-sized notebook like those from Minnie & Emma to stash in the drawer.
6. A Bowl of necessities because we’re never too far from our Skin Savior and it’s always smart to have the Advil close by. A pretty blue & white bowl corrals the necessities in a way that’s nice on the eye.
7. A trinket bowl & ring dish is simply the prettiest catchall for jewelry, and perfect for those who prefer not to sleep in their baubles. The trophy bowl offers a unique touch for watches and necklaces, while the pebble ring dish works best for the small sparkle.
What do you have bedside? Do you have any bedside essentials to add to the list? Head over to the original post to read more about why we consider these our top nightstand essentials. Cheers, Kat

MKR proved to us last year that one of the quickest ways to give your bedroom a refresh is actually an easy update; it starts your bedding. She shared that her bedroom is truly her happy place, and I can’t help but think of my bedroom as mine. And since now it’s harder than ever to get out of bed in the morning, what better time than now to bring this bedroom refresh post back out of the archives to share again.
I honestly get excited to get ready for bed, so you won’t be surprised to learn that I’m such a sucker for good bedding. It’s the first thing you feel when you climb into bed every night, and it’s one of the most intimate details of your daily life. My rationale: I spend a lot of my life sleeping or in bed, so why skimp on making it as comfortable and enjoyable as possible?
I don’t really think you can go wrong with bedding if you pay attention to the quality of the fabric and simply enjoy its feel. MKR keeps it simple in her bedroom with classic grey bedding from Crane & Canopy as pictured above. I, too, like to keep things simple, though I usually always stick with crisp white sheets. There’s just something so clean and fresh about an all-white bed! My favorite part about simple bedding: it’s classic. Accenting the simple bedding then is easy with a cozy throw and tons of throw pillows.
Tell me, do you stick with simple bedding at home? Are you particular on thread count when finding the perfect bedding? Do you have a favorite brand you’ve used for years and that I need to know about? Cheers, Kat
