If you’re following along on Instagram and Snapchat (username WAITINGONMARTHA), you’ll know that I’m currently in England (!) for the week.  But because the trip was short notice, and with everything else going on, I had no time to properly shop for the cooler weather that jumping the pond would bring.  So in order to see London and explore the English countryside properly, I had to figure out how to fill my suitcase with cozy sweaters, boots, hats and jackets.  Enter Trunk Club

If you’re not familiar with Trunk Club yet, I’d suggest you become familiar because it is a game-changer.  In short, Trunk Club is a personal styling service for women and men, and while it’s perfect for those with no time to shop (me), it’s also perfect for those looking for a little guidance in building a well-stocked wardrobe.  When you sign up, you’re paired with a personal stylist who curates a “trunk” of clothing and accessories based on your style and sizes with major brands such as Vince, Theory, Joie, Equipment, Splendid, Current / Elliott and more.

I know what you’re thinking: that sounds pretty amazing, but that also sounds like a lot of pressure to buy.  But here’s the beauty, Trunk Club is NOT a subscription service like similar wardrobe styling brands.  Which means there are no subscription fees, shipping is always free, and most importantly…no pressure.  I loved my stylist; she was anything but “salesy”, and she hand-picked some great pieces that really fit my personal style.

So here’s how it worked: after talking with my stylist she put together a trunk that I was able to review before it even shipped out, ensuring that I was receiving pieces that I was interested in purchasing. Once the trunk arrived I was given five days to try on the items from my trunk, with free return shipping for all of the items I didn’t wish to purchase.  The whole process was seamless and painless, and at the end of the day I pulled the trigger on jeans, boots, and the gorgeous DVF red coat!

Lastly, and because I’m such a sucker for packaging, I might add that Trunk Club’s trunk packaging is on point.  Everything was perfectly folded and wrapped in ribbon in the cardboard trunk (just waiting to be Instagrammed!).  Opening my trunk felt a little like Christmas morning, unwrapping a bundle of goodies…it really is an experience.  Truly, MKR

I’m a huge fan of fall for SO many reasons (pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin spice candles, bonfires, tailgating…).  But one of the biggest reasons I love fall so much is the clothes!  For me, when it comes to dressing for the season, it’s all about awesome layers and great accessories.

Speaking of layers, let’s talk about this navy leather jacket.  You know I’m a sucker for a good leather jacket, in fact, I’d call a leather jacket my number one go-to piece when colder weather blows it.  But when I saw it in navy, I just died.  Truly, I have been eyeing it since last year, I kid you not.  And now I can finally attest that yes, it’s amazing and yes, it’s SO worth the splurge.  Because just like any great leather jacket, I know I’ll have it for years to come and it will only get better with age.  Plus in this gorgeous shade of blue, it’s a unique but traditional go-to piece.

Now that I think about it, along with the jacket, this outfit is full of so many of my go-to’s: skinny jeans, a stripe button down (I own about 20 of them) and some great runaround kicks…classic Adidas sneakers.  And for those great accessories I spoke of:  mirrored sunnies an easy crossbody bag, and a bandana.  Yes I’ve definitely jumped on the bandana train, but not the expensive bandana train because a bandana should NEVER be expensive!

Tell me, friends: what pieces will be on repeat in your closet, come fall?  And don’t be surprised when you see pretty much everything in this post on repeat!  Truly, MKR

This shirt (because #bluesandstripesforever), my favorite pair of denim cutoffs, my Birks, a pair of aviators and my summer bag…is truly my everyday summer uniform.  And they call it a uniform for good reason because I literally live in variations of this outfit (outside business hours of course).

First things first: I’m honestly always in the market for a blue (or any color) stripe shirt since I know I’ll wear them nonstop.  I was quick to snatch up this one by Saint James, my color is sold out, but this variation is so good too. If you’re not familiar with Saint James, they’re a French company that is king of classic stripes, and oh do they know how to make a great stripe shirt (exhibit A found above and exhibit B found here).  I easily own over a dozen Saint James shirts because they are such high quality; ones that will truly transcend seasons and never go out of style (p.s. they run pretty true to size, I’m wearing a medium).

My summer style also means I don’t want to think much about the rest of the outfit.  So usually I throw on my favorite pair of denim cutoffs.  I’ve had my denim cutoffs since last year (the team has stumbled upon a similar cheaper option and Kat just bought a made-to-order vintage Levi’s pair which she’s excited about). This probably goes without saying, but these shorts are my go-to when I can’t stand having lots of fabric on my legs in this Georgia summer heat.  And because they are on the shorter side I always order them a size larger, wear appropriate under garments for those “just in case” moments, and almost always balance them out with a looser shirt.

Lastly, I really can’t tell you enough how much I live in my Birkenstock sandals.  They’re my flashback-from-high-school shoes (especially in the natural suede), but I couldn’t be happier about it since they are literally the most comfortable shoes around (get the soft footbed).  Find the rest of the outfit details below to get the look, and tell me friends, what’s your everyday summer outfit?  Truly, MKR
