I’ve always been a fan of a great at-home bar. I strongly believe it’s a must-learn life skill to mix up classic cocktails, and as an avid host, it’s important to provide an array...
Looking back on Easter as a child, I remember how excited I was to dig through my Easter basket. Full of chocolate bunnies, malt ball Easter eggs, Peeps, golden coins, and my favorite Cadbury...

I love summer. I love lemons. I love slushies. So obviously we know what comes next right? The easiest, most refreshing cocktail ever…a Lemon Vodka Slush. By combining Smirnoff‘sLemon Light Sorbet Vodka, (also available in raspberry pomegranate and mango passion fruit) and a bit of Haagen Dazs sorbet you’ll quickly have a your new summer time drink. So whose ready for the pool? Cheers! truly, MKR.
It’s no secret that I love a good cocktail. And in summer there is no cocktail I like better than a margarita! My two go-to margarita recipes are complete opposites, one brings the heat and one the sweet. My Peppered Margarita is swimming with jalapenos while my St. Germain margarita is accented with mint and elderflower. Cheers! truly,MKR.
I love strawberries. I love margaritas. I hate strawberry margaritas. The problem is you dine at a restaurant, order a strawberry margarita and it’s a sugary, frozen, 800 calorie hot mess. So when life hands you lemons (or rather strawberries) you make lemonade…spiked of course. So my Loves, I give you my take on the Strawberry Margarita. A Margarita to shame all other Margaritas! Cin Cin! Truly, MKR
1 1/2 oz of silver tequila (I prefer Herradura or Patron...you could also use vodka if you're not a tequila fan)
1 pint of fresh strawberries
Juice of 2 limes
1-2 splashes of simple syrup (dependent on how in season and sweet your strawberries are)
Ice
Muddler
Cocktail shaker
Sieve
Instructions
Rinse, hull and cut strawberries in half.
Add ice to martini glasses and set aside to chill.
Place sieve on top of a bowl or large measuring cup. Add about a handful of strawberries to the sieve and begin to muddle. You CANNOT do this in a blender because the strawberries will become foamy. Continue muddling strawberries and extracting the juice until you have about 1/4 - 1/2 cup of strawberry juice.
Add ice, strawberry juice, lime juice, and simple syrup to the cocktail shaker. Shake, shake, shake.
Dump ice out of martini glasses, pour the strawberry margarita micture in, garnish with a strawberry and enjoy!
Notes
*You can also sugar or salt the rim if preferred.
