When have you ever known us to miss an opportunity to make a beloved drink into a boozy libation? It sure doesn’t happen often, and we didn’t skip a beat adding a little Don Julio Tequila to make the best ever spiked rendition from a seasonal favorite.

Our spiked Mexican hot chocolate captures that wickedly delicious play of flavors between the bittersweet chocolate, spicy cayenne, cinnamon and vanilla. The result is a rich, velvety sip that packs the perfect amount of heat. Add adorable pumpkin mugs from Pottery Barn and a decadent, homemade whipped cream with our signature ooey-gooey drip of chocolate and you have yourself—what we think is—one of the best ways to stay warm this fall.

And with that, loves, we close out a boozy October (the best kind). Rummy Spiced Cider, Ginny Gin Gin Punch, Boozy Butterbeer and Spiked Mexian Hot Chocolate…can you try to pick a favorite?? I hope you all have a perfectly haunting Halloween! Truly, MKR

Boozy Butterbeer

A Creamy Libation with Malty Flavors...Loved By Harry Potter Fans Everywhere

As you’ve joined us in test-tasting, we’ve been celebrating fall flavors in cocktail form with Pottery Barn; our Rummy Spiced Cider and Ginny Gin Gin Punch have proven to be quite the crowd-pleasers.  But perhaps the best of all?  Our Boozy Butterbeer, inspired by the magical world of Harry Potter.

I’d be lying if I said the WOM team hasn’t check the mail a few times for their own Hogwarts acceptance letters, like any true Harry Potter fan.  I mean can you find a HP fan who hasn’t dreamt of clanking a few glasses of Butterbeer in Hogsmeade with their best buds?  Nope.  So every time the haunting season rolls around, we let our imaginations drift to a more magical place with this boozy rendition of Harry Potter’s Butterbeer.

Apparently it was quite the process nailing the final recipe that’s used at Universal, which is delicious, but alas—nonalcoholic.  So in true WOM fashion, we slipped some Captain Morgan into our cauldron, giving each spooky cat glass that buzz it deserves. Think about sipping on creamy, foamy, syrupy, malty, velvety notes by the roaring fire in the common room (in those great Gryffindor scarves!).  Sooo good!  Truly, MKR

Ginny Gin Gin Punch

A Crowd-Pleasing Batch Drink with Gin, Oleo Saccharum, Champagne and Fresh Mint Sprigs

If you’re just joining us, welcome to the month of belly-warming cocktails as we team up with our friends at Pottery Barn to bring you a whole slew of seasonal sips.  Though last week’s Rummy Spiced Cider was such a hit, I have a feeling that this week’s Ginny Gin Gin Punch will win over gin and non-gin lovers alike.

First order of business: we’ll need a little Oleo Saccharum to make the most out of the citrus to stir into this fantastic batch cocktail.  Before your eyes gloss over, I’m going to assure you that Oleo Saccharum is much easier than it sounds…

But let me back up; for those of you who have no idea what it is, Oleo Saccharum literally means “oil (or fat) sucrose,” which refers simply to the oil extracted from citrus peels by using sugar.  Bartenders have been using it to add aroma and flavor to all sorts of libations since the early 19th century, and as you’ll see, it’ll pack the punch in today’s cocktail. Oftentimes there’s a lot more goodness to the orange, grapefruit or lemon than we realize when using them, and Oleo Saccharum helps us extract every single one of those vibrant citrus notes (full how-to can be found in the recipe below).

So with our fragrant Oleo Saccharum syrup oozing with flavor, mix in some Tanqueray No. 10, some bubbles and top with a fresh mint sprig from the garden. Pour over ice, break out Pottery Barn’s festive beaker glasses and gather around to enjoy every last drop of our Ginny Gin Gin Punch.  Cheers!  Truly, MKR

P.S. We’ll be mixing up two more festive drinks to enjoy this Fall, so stay tuned. xo
