8 Reasons to Love Spring

Here's Why We're Counting Down til the Season Starts
Filed Under > Entertaining

I’m always so excited to welcome spring.  Around this time every winter, I long for warmer weather, spring flowers and time in the park.  Spring means the start to patio season, so that’s reason to celebrate in itself (hello rosé!).  This is also the time I start to really plan upcoming summer travel, so springtime becomes a time of eager anticipation and looking ahead.  Spring cleaning used to sound daunting to me, but I now welcome that too, thinking of it as a time to refresh.

Click through the slideshow above to find eight of the reasons I love the season, though the reasons are virtually endless. Do you look love spring as much as I do? What are you most looking forward to?  Cheers, Kat

Wishing You A Very Merry Christmas

Merry Wishes for You and Yours This Holiday

Christmas Cards from Paperless Post via Waiting on Martha Christmas Cards from Paperless Post via Waiting on MarthaChristmas Cards from Paperless Post via Waiting on Martha

This holiday season I’ve been sharing a lot of my holiday traditions with you all, so I thought what better way to end than with my absolute favorite, our yearly Christmas cards.  Each year I find such joy picking out exactly the right festive sentiment to send.  I spend hours, coffee cup in hand, mulling over design after design until I’ve narrowed it down to exactly what the Rye family wants to say.  This year our message was simple; “have yourself a merry little Christmas, let your heart be light, from now on our troubles will be out of sight.  A simple message, from a favorite song, that strikes a memory and brings warmth to my heart the second it begins to play.  The cards themselves designed by Mr. Boddington’s Studio for Paperless Post, reminded me of Christmases past.  We added just the right amount of playfulness to the design with a mini champagne envelope liner and Charlie Brown Christmas Stamps.

From all of us here at WOM, we hope Santa is good to you this year, but that you take a moment to remember the true meaning of Christmas and have a day filled with love, laughter, family, and joy.  Sending all of you lots of hugs!  Truly, MKR

The Christmas To-Do List

A Festive Checklist for All of Your Merry-Making
Filed Under > Entertaining

With plans of baking sugar cookies and sipping on a festive holiday cocktail, you’re probably coasting right through the week and counting down until Santa comes. But with those holiday break prerequisites also comes a few things on the Christmas To Do list you may have forgotten…like stocking the fridge and prepping the guest room for out-of-towners who will be arriving in only a few hours.  Maybe you’ll even need a reminder to be patient with loved ones and squeeze a sweat sesh in, too.

Check out the slideshow above for a few things you’ll want to do this week in anticipation for the big day and any holiday entertaining you have planned. From the entire WOM team, we hope you have a wonderful Christmastime!   Cheers, Kat
