In decorating my first home I’ve learned a lot of things, the biggest being that I’m just beginning to scratch the surface on what my design aesthetic is. A big part of that journey has been choosing what to hang on my walls. And quite frankly, adding art to your home can be a tad daunting. Mainly because I don’t think there’s no greater of a personal statement about who a person is creatively than what they choose to hang on their walls. And honestly people are VERY opinionated when it comes to art.
Here’s my two cents…don’t worry about what you know or don’t know about art, just buy what you love, what makes you feel. Your home should be filled with what you actually love, not what you’re “supposed” to love (this mantra holds true for just about anything…what you choose to wear, who you choose to marry, etc). So with that being said, check out my art ideas above; and what are you loving lately? xoxo

I love the headdress. So colorful and fun!
agreed! It is a daunting thing (especially when you have a hallway as long as mine), but finding unique pieces that you love is the best place to start. A few years I had nothing, now I’ve got a small ‘collection’
p.s. I’m actually attempting to paint a canvas similar to some of these abstract ones!
I’m obsessed with that one too, and it comes in notecards as well!! xoxo
Blair that is so awesome, and I feel you about the hallway. my entry way is 16ft of blank wall, but I just added 5 new pieces. Art is expensive though, it will be a slow going process at my home. Please share your canvas when you’re done!!
xoxo
Well said! It truly is about choosing art that speaks to you, that makes YOU happy, otherwise what’s the point? Love this round up, happy be included in it 😉
