Waiting on Martha book club recommendations

On the reading list?  Well quite a few actually.  But with a mix of boss-status motivational books, a few page-turning novels, some gorgeous cookbooks and of course a book or two pretty enough to stand alone as decor for that shelfie, this list is looking quite enjoyable!

The One Thing: In a fascinating, yet so simple, concept, this best seller encourages people to focus their energy on only one thing at a time, leading them to live more rewarding lives by building their careers, strengthening their finances, losing weight and getting in shape, deepening their faith, and nurturing stronger marriages and personal relationships.

Boss Life: Surviving My Own Small Business: enough said. I think any other small business owner can relate to this book at some point in their journey! As you’ll remember, my 2016 word is “structure” and I’m hoping to bring a little more sanity into my day to day.

The Leadership Secrets of Santa Claus: Any tips from one of the most time-strapped bosses around is welcome by me.  This entertaining read sheds light on many of the most common management and leadership struggles, and gives advice on how to produce significant and sustained results, and you know I love Christmas all year round.

The Go-Giver: This great read shows how powerful it can be as a small business owner to give in order to receive.  With this change of focus, you can actually receive more ten-fold.

Sandcastle Kings: Written by the star of Rich in Faith, the reality show I’m watching on Oxygen, SK explains that our answer to spiritual bankruptcy is through knowing Jesus. I can’t wait to dig into this one, and I just love how Rich Wilkerson, Jr. is bringing a young vibe back to the church.

The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: I’m currently reading this, and you know I’m going to go ahead and say it too: it’s truly life-changing. It’s really changed how I look at the art of tidying up, and has led me to see ways to simplify and de-clutter my life I never did before.  Stay tuned for my full download of this must-read here on the blog soon.

Eve: Up next on my reading list, this is the highly-anticipated second book by the author of The Shack, which I read in literally 24 hours.  WM. Paul Young knows how to craft a deliciously intriguing angle, as he brings his readers down a fictional, yet religiously-based storyline. Eve is about none other than Eve herself, exploring The Creation narrative and the context of our beginnings.

Toast: a gorgeous cookbook about one of my favorite bites.  We’re always reading cookbooks for inspiration in the kitchen, so this was a no-brainer.

The Southerner’s Cookbook
:
By the editors of Garden & Gun, this is definitely an entertaining staple.

All In Good TasteThis book by Kate Spade is filled with helpful how-to’s and charming entertaining tips you’ll be dying to put to use at your next soiree.

Love Style Life: After Kat’s obsession with How to be Parisian Wherever You Are, she knew she would love this NY Times bestseller by one of our go-to’s for all things chic: Garance Doré.  Stay tuned for Kat’s favorite takeaways from Garance’s life + travel wisdom (and I’m sure a stylish ‘gram with the book or two).

Harry Potter
: it would be an injustice to write any kind of reading post without mentioning this series.  The WOM team doesn’t pretend to be anything but dorks when it comes to our favorite wizarding gang.  It’s one of those series that you always come back to, whether you’re doing a quick reread, watching the movies or listening on Audible (Kat’s favorite road trip companion).  I’ll be proud to pass down my limited edition series someday, originally snagged on One Kings Lane, and I encourage any true fan to own their own collector’s edition series.

What books are you currently reading?  Any you can’t put down?  Let us know in the comments below and by using #WOMBookClub on social media what we should be reading next and follow along as we share our thoughts on a new book each month in our new series Book Club (I know original name right).  Next up, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up for me and, Love Style Life for Kat.  Truly, MKR
