When I’m on the hunt for a great look for an upcoming event, or when I’m looking for a little #ootd inspiration, I usually always find myself at Neiman’s.  And nine times out of ten, when I venture into the Cusp section,  I find whatever I’m looking for…along with unique pieces I never even KNEW I needed.  Think Vince cashmere sweaters, Self-Portrait dresses, Tibi wardrobe staples and more.  I mean, it’s dangerous.

I of course had a recent fall-in-love-and-try-on-everything experience when the team invited me to play dress up in celebration of its Chic Week this week, when the entire Cusp collection is 25% off.  I almost couldn’t believe it either; this sale includes SO many great deals on amazing, high-end labels, and the pieces are going to sell FAST.

While I had a blast trying on pieces from some of my favorite designers, I must admit that I was absolutely smitten with the entire See by Chloe line.  I’m not kidding you when I say that I could have bought the entire line right then and there.  The collection is b-e-a-utiful.  Just take a look for yourself at this blouse, this top and this top

I settled on this girly, fluttery shirt dress since I’ve always been a big fan of a good shirt dress, and the details on this one are just incredible.  The feathery, frayed fil coupe, the mandarin collar, its arched hem and of course the fun print just screamed my name.  I can’t wait to dress this piece up and down, too.  And when the temperatures drop, I’ll layer this See by Chloe dress with a beautiful silk button down blouse

And do you remember these gorgeous boots?  I snagged these Stuart Weitzman over the knee suede boots last year, and I’m still madly in love and very pleased with the investment.  The unique color combination is no longer available, but there is an amazing pair of bordeaux velvet ones that are just as good.  In my opinion, SW boots are ALWAYS worth the splurge.  Whenever you can find them on sale, buy them in every color…ha!  They’re comfortable beyond belief, and the over the knee style is incredibly slimming AND flattering.  Truly, MKR

All in the Ladylike Details

A flattering and sharp look that brings you from meetings to drinks in style
Filed Under > #OOTD (Outfit of the Day)

I’ve always been a fan of a sharp outfit that can take me from meetings to drinks, and of course, one that’s incredibly comfortable while I’m at it.  And it’s outfits and accessories like these, that really prove that it really is ALL in the ladylike details.

I scored this everyday off-the-shoulder top recently from J.Crew, and it’s on major sale right now.  It’s a soft cotton that creates a nice silhouette, while hugging you in the most simple and flattering way.  And it lies just right; it doesn’t ride up like most off-the-shoulder tops because of the way it’s cut. I bought it in a medium for jeans and a small for a highwaisted skirt such as this.

The top easily tucked into this high-waisted A-line cream skirt with black leather trim, another find from J.Crew. At first I was very against highwaisted skirts thinking they were only for the double zeros of the worlds, but after finding the ones that work for my body I know can’t get enough.  Sadly, this version isn’t available online anymore, but THIS ONE is quite similar and I’ve also linked a few more in the widget below.

Accessorizing this outfit was the part I really enjoyed.  Since the colors and lines of the top and skirt were straightforward, I knew I wanted to make a statement with my bag, jewelry and shoes.  This beautiful bag is by ZAC Zac Posen, and just one part of the fresh new fall line that’s TO DIE FOR.  I’m utterly in love with the flower strap detailing.  And as you may remember from last week, I shared the most adorable wristlet from the fall collection too.

The sunglasses you’ve seen before; my Pradas have proven to be a wonderful wardrobe staple.  And the pearl earrings and stack of bangles are both from the shoppe.  The earrings are here, and just call about the bracelets-sorry they aren’t online yet.

Which brings me to the shoes.  I just LOVE the silver d’Orsay toe paired with its low, tapered gold stiletto heel.  I’ve come to rely on DVF for gorgeous shoes like these; classic and feminine, with an unexpected twist! Plus they’re beyond comfortable; I can wear them all day without worry. Win, win!  Truly, MKR

Embracing the Luxury Pajama Trend in Full Force

If we’re being frank here, my favorite thing to wear is pajamas.  So getting behind the pajamas-in-public trend has not been hard for me.  I’m just glad that it’s been around for more than a season or two.  Silky sets, trench dresses that look like robes and all of the beautiful, details that come with them are not going anywhere for me.

J.Crew originally showed this beauty as a blue silk trench dress and/or a duster.  It honestly reminds me more of Hugh Hefner’s silk robes…ha!  So that sparked my pajama love and had me pressing “buy” before I knew it.  I love this silk trench dress!

I wore it here with fun accessories like these Sibilia earrings from the Shoppe, my favorite ballerina-esq body suit, everyday grey jeans and my new gold loafers. Before I talk about the loafers—don’t worry, I’m going to talk about the loafers—I must say that this silk robe trench “dress” is incredibly versatile.  It has me thinking about eventually taking the dress route and wearing it with black tights, black high heeled, high fashion ankle booties and the bodysuit beneath.  The bodysuit will be a must though, otherwise I think I’ll feel a little too naked.

Anyway, okay, but now the gold flats.  How fabulous are they?!  A splurge, for sure, but one that I’m SO pleased about.  I cannot express to you just how comfortable they are too.  I’m convinced it’s because of that fine Italian Valentino leather enveloping my feet.  I could LIVE in these things.  And these will definitely be a pair of shoes that get better the more aged and worn they become.  I also linked to a similar option for gold loafers below and here.

Lastly, I’ve got to mention how obsessed I am with the mini bag trend. They’re SO stinking cute!  And this beautiful mini by ZAC Zac Posen is also available in the exact style in a larger, regular size, too.

So tell me friends, are you pro or con the pajama trend? Truly, MKR
